  A lot of mold builds up in the apartments—the kind that won't come off no matter how much you clean. Also, when you move out, keep photos of your payment receipts; they charged me for the water bill twice and simply claimed it was an issue with another office or something like that. Basically, they expect the apartment to be left in pristine condition, which is impossible when people have actually lived there. Two cars were stolen from the parking lot, and you can't even go for a walk because there are homeless people on the street. I also faced discrimination from an employee: whenever I arrived, they would practically rush out to stop me from entering the office.

  I lived here with a boyfriend from Spring 2009 to Winter 2010, back when rent for a 1 bedroom was $525/month. I can see from photos they haven't renovated the units since then, but the clubhouse sure looks a lot nicer! So *that's* where everyone's rent has been going... as well as the suit's pockets, I'm sure. I actually enjoyed living here until about 6 months in. A large family moved into the unit below us and would absolutely BLAST the most grating mariachi music with their windows (and front door, for some reason) open all hours of the day. I'd hear neighbors laughing about it and having to explain it to visitors all the time. Management didn't care because it wasn't happening during quiet hours. They'd also violently stab at their ceiling with a broom whenever my boyfriend and I would be doing the deed (with our windows CLOSED). Not gonna time it to when they're playing mariachi, sorry. Nobody should have to go through psychological warfare where they live and something absolutely should have been done about it. They would also treat the parking lot in front of our building like their own personal driveway and casually hang out there with their kids, getting offended when people drove by, so it seems they just needed to be told about boundaries/respecting neighbors. Anyway, looks like their DVD collection has expanded quite a bit (they had maybe 50 movies when I lived here and I did end up watching all of them), and the gym and pool look nice, but I'd never consider moving back now as a single/financially independent adult after my experience.

  I have had such a positive experience in my year of residency at Saint Mary's Woods apartments. My One bed one bath apartment has a window that I get to watch the sun set from every night. The staff have always been extremely kind and helpful when I had questioned. They even coached me on how to get rid of some unruly roommates! They were even understanding when I was having a financial crisis and allowed me to sign a payment plan for that month. I am happily renewing my lease for another year to come and envision living here for many more years to come. They also have a surprisingly inclusive pet policy and allow many pets that I was not expecting! The hot tub is one of my absolute favorite ways to spend the evenings after it gets dark. Service requests have always been taken care of within twenty four hours of my making a request. A+++ experience so far.
