I have not had to many problems whilrliving here! through my ups and downs they have really been patient with me when most places would have not. im grateful for redwood creek apartments for allowing me to be a resident.
Living at Commons at Redwood Creek has become a major safety and frustration concern due to severe security issues, including heavy suspicious activity and multiple vehicle thefts right out of the parking lots. Instead of addressing the rampant crime or helping residents, management’s response was to issue a letter banning all personal security cameras and demanding their immediate removal. When residents try to protect their own property because the complex won't, our safety measures are shut down. Furthermore, prospective tenants should be aware of how communication is handled here. If you make a complaint, management will actively look for minor lease violations to retaliate against you, sending warning letters to your door shortly after you speak up. If you attempt to call/email to find a middle ground, Andie Wilde (Property Manager) will mischaracterize a respectful conversation or simple questions as an "argument." They will likely reply to this review telling me to call the office, but be aware that they refuse to actually work with residents to find solutions, so proceed with caution if you value safety and fair treatment.

Just moved into Redwood Commons during a pretty chaotic life transition, and the team here made what could've been a miserable experience genuinely good.
Laura in the front office deserves real recognition. I came by probably five times in three days with a different story almost every visit — my situation was in flux and I kept needing to change things. She was patient through every twist, never made me feel like a burden, and worked through all of it with grace. I showed up frazzled, unshaven, clearly running on fumes more than once, and was met with kindness every single time. Andre is the guy who knows everything — the weird lease questions, the building minutiae, the trivia nobody else seems to have answers for. Between the two of them, every odd question got resolved. They offered sodas and snacks every visit, which sounds small but felt human in a way that mattered.
On the maintenance side: David is clearly overqualified for fixing microwaves — turns out he's a cloud engineer — and you can tell. He diagnosed a genuinely strange microwave issue methodically, tried a couple things, and had it sorted efficiently. Taylor came by twice, once for a light fixture and once for a leaking dishwasher, and was fast and clean both times. The property manager stopped by personally to check the light sensor before assuming hardware failure, which I appreciated.
Fast response times, real competence, and people who actually treat you like a person. That's the whole package, and they've got it.

Unprofessional & Uncomfortable Experience During Scheduled Tour
Today, my girlfriend and I came in for a scheduled apartment tour. Unfortunately, she had accidentally left her ID at home. The leasing agent, Laura, handled the situation professionally and kindly explained that due to policy, my girlfriend could not join the tour. She was very accommodating, offering snacks and drinks and even suggesting I FaceTime my girlfriend during the tour. She also allowed her to wait comfortably in the leasing office, which we really appreciated.
However, the experience took a turn when another employee, KENNEDY, entered with a different prospective couple. Upon noticing my girlfriend sitting quietly in the office on FaceTime, Kennedy became noticeably passive-aggressive. She made several comments in front of both my girlfriend and the other couple, stating that my girlfriend “was not supposed to be in there” and that she could not proceed with the tour because of her presence. She instructed the couple to wait elsewhere, saying she “couldn’t leave with her in here.”
This was all said directly in front of my girlfriend, who was simply sitting quietly and trying to view the apartment remotely. She was left feeling confused, embarrassed, and uncomfortable, unsure of how to respond. The other couple also appeared visibly awkward and unsure of what was happening.
Had the situation been handled with professionalism and a simple, polite explanation, this could have been avoided entirely. Instead, the interaction created a tense and unwelcoming environment.
We genuinely liked the apartment and had been seriously considering this property. However, due to this experience, we will not be moving forward with an application. We value respectful and professional communication, and unfortunately, this interaction did not reflect that.
We left feeling very disappointed. Thank you KENNEDY for helping us narrow down our search.

I lived in this apartment complex from May 2025 to Jan 2026 and I am so glad I only had an 8 month lease because this was by far the worst apartment complex I have ever lived in. I almost can't believe how many problems I had living here in that short amount of time. It always felt like something else was going on and there was no peace.
Drug dealers are allowed to live here without any action taken by the management. At one point there was even yellow paint written on their sliding glass door that said "Unless you live here, stay out." I'm still not sure what was happening with that neighbor but I think his family was trying to keep drug users from visiting/buying from the person that lived there. Their unit was always trashed outside, random people were always going in and out and a few times I walked by burned items (like spray paint cans) out front.
There was SO much dog poo on all the sidewalks and piles of it in the grass - it was impossible to not step in it, even when you looked out for it. It was constantly on the sidewalk. It was often tracked down the sidewalk and the maintenance crew must have seen it but rarely cleaned it up.
When I first moved in, one of my neighbors was having mental health crisis regularly and would scream in the courtyard and verbally abuse the woman that lived with him. He was a pretty big guy and seemed really upset often so it was pretty scary. Cops regularly patrol the complex, which is probably a good idea in this place with what I've seen, but it's just not a very peaceful place to live.
There were two situations that happened towards the end of my lease that made me not want to stay another month. The first was that my upstairs neighbor flooded my apartment while I was at work by leaving their bathtub running (apparently for a very long time based on how much water was across my entire bathroom and bedroom floor, reaching all the way to the window). The maintenance man did bring fans and confirmed that my upstairs neighbor had turned off the tub but I felt very uneasy after that because it was very strange they didn't notice it had overflowed for so long and I'm very lucky everything in my bedroom wasn't ruined and I didn't have any valuables on the floor.
The other problem happened when several very large tree branches fell from the tree outside my apartment. The management refused to take my concern for safety seriously and said the tree was fine and had recently been evaluated by a "professional tree service". It clearly was dead and not fine since it was dropping huge branches right on the walkway of my apartment several weeks in a row. It could have fallen on the building with a winter storm.
The biggest disappointment without a doubt was the management. I felt very unsafe in this complex at different times and when I would bring up concerns, not only were they brushed under the rug, but it almost seemed like they would retaliate against me. For example, after bringing something to their attention (I can't even remember which one because this place was such a hot mess), the next day they left a notice that they had to do a "yearly" inspection, after about 3 months of me living there. After, they noted that I had a dog, which I was very clear about in my application and all my paper work. The office said they never charged me for a pet deposit or pet rent for 3 months and charged me the lump sum all at once, which was over $500 even though it was their mistake for not charging me correctly at the beginning.
This place is truly horrible and every 1 star review I have read about them is absolutely true in my opinion. I have seen what people complain about and I know they are not exaggerating because many of these things have happened to me. If you are one of the lucky ones that doesn't have a bad experience in this place, then good for you, but trust me it is not worth the headache to live here. I would absolutely warn you to stay away from this complex if you have any other options.
