I recently found what I am almost positive is mold in my vents. When I told maintenance they came and looked and did nothing. I have another year of living here but I will be looking into breaking my lease because of this.

Literally the worst apartment I have ever lived in. I know there’s worse out there don’t get me wrong but short summary of the experience: AC didn’t work for the first 3 months living here. Took endless phone calls and maintenance requests to get it resolved. Temperature was mid 80s or above at all times - and I happened to be working remote at the time… Leasing agents will overpromise and underdeliver. I signed a lease for an apartment with a balcony and got one without the day I moved in. Surprise! Just found a mouse in my apartment. Enough said… now I get to discard all my food and feel uncomfortable in my apartment. You get a covered garage that’s nice I guess. I would choose to live almost anywhere else would never resign here To echo others: It’s ran by a terrible management company. I’ve seen endless property managers come and go, endless maintenance workers come and go. It is clear the Maywood does not care about actually providing you a good experience, just dangling a lease special to get you to sign and then ignoring you after. Wouldn’t recommend

This is a review of my entire time living here. I lived here for 4 years (2022-2026). I have had at least 8 apartment managers, some only lasting 2-3 months. We have had 4 mass break-ins in the garages (though haven’t had one in a year), every winter the management harps on residents to drip faucets and adjust heaters, but no one enforces maintenance to do it in all the empty apartments. This causes pipes to burst on different floors no matter what one you’re on. This sets off the fire alarms in the middle of the night, and it takes them forever to shut them off, flooding halls and neighboring apartments. EVERY WINTER IT IS LIKE THIS! I had an issue with my AC leaking water all over for over 3 years, I reported it to maintenance at least 10 times and they would just complete the request and not do anything about it. Finally I had to call and report everyday for about a week straight and it finally got fixed. It caused heavy staining on the wall in the bathroom and the laundry room. I had to have the bathtub repaired 3 times over 4 years because it would crack. The last time it was fixed, the third party that came and did it, didn’t contain the power they use for the finish and it got all over my apartment. They did wave the final cleaning fee due to this issue. I reported the mold growing above the shower twice and both times, they just painted over it, it is still there and still growing. The big issue is the Corp in California, they could care less about the residents here. The management try their best, but Corp causes the issues. The negative reviews are 100% true. When I moved in, this place had 4.7 starts on google, now they are down to 4.2. We had a manager a few years ago offering money off rent for 5 star reviews, that is why it is still high and hasn’t dropped lower. I had fees added at the end after I moved out called RiskRelease. It is the apartments insurance. It was trying to bill me after my lease ends. Even though I had moved out and it was effective after my lease ended. I was able get it removed, but it was not something that should have happened and Corp/3rd party added the fees with no warning or reason why. You really have to watch on the final bill to make sure the corp office isn't trying anything sneaky. They switched water companies and now they bill based on complex use. I was gone for 3 weeks one month and got an $80 water bill. Water bills average over $65/month consistently. They add stupid fees and they make you pay, some started in the middle of a lease year when they changed locks on apartment doors (another $40/month). They don’t give hardly any notice for pest control or other maintenance things. If your lucky, residents get 24 hours notice of things going on. I used to study in the lounge in phase 1 building, but the AC went out in there and CORP refused to fix it, pretty sure it is still broken 4 years later along with all the gym equipment. Pool turns green every summer from algae. The Corp office doesn’t want to fix anything in their buildings, residents have been asking for gates to the parking garages for years, but they refuse to spend the money to ensure safety. The only silver lining was Jill (assistant manager) and Michelle (Manager) who took over towards the very end of my lease, they has been really good about listening when I have told them about all the issues over the years. They have been trying to make things better, hopefully they will stay, then maybe it will improve, but they also need a Corporate that will back them and make the necessary improvements. They have already hired new staff, new maintenance crew, so I guess time will tell. Please read the reviews including with the bad ones, they are/were all true over my time living here. I would not live here again, I wanted to make this review and show others what it was like for me.

Horrible experience living here. Management has horrible turnover rate that has lead to evasive and dishonest business practices regarding communicating with the front office. Mysteriously no one will be able to answer your questions when you need a straightforward answer. When I moved out I was told everything had been taken care of on my end after paying $190 for a professional cleaner. EVEN AFTER CLARIFYING WITH MANAGEMENT MULTIPLE TIMES OVER A 2 MONTH PERIOD I WAS REASSURED THERE WOULD BE NO ISSUES WITH MOVING OUT. 9 months later I have been sent to collections over an unclear unpaid debt (no itemized bill). No final notice will be mailed or emailed to you, but you will be sent to collections and unable to rent future apartments. The apartment also had my phone number and email address and ZERO attempts were made to collect this debt. In fact, shortly after I moved out I called THEM to see if I owed anything and they told me my account was in good standing. If you value your credit score please do not live here. In addition the building frequently floods and has mold growing in the walls and light fixtures. DO NOT LIVE HERE.

This place is a dump. We have been left with no AC for 7 days with nearly 100 degree temps. No end in sight. The office staff is snarky and could not care less about their tenants. The hallways reek of weed even though this is a non-smoking building. I wish I could give this zero stars. It won't let me attach photos or I'd show you that it's currently 83 degrees in the apt. They also rarely pick up trash left outside despite charging a monthly trash valet service. I don't mind taking the trash to the dumpster, but then give residents the option to not pay for trash valet service. None of the equipment in the gym works. I mean, I could go on and on. My advise, don't rent here. There is absolutely NOTHING luxurious about this place.
