  Hesitate before you move here. It looks great initially, but the longer you stick around the more you realize there are more cons than pros to living here. I was a resident for 3 years. The office staff is nice when they want you to move in, but otherwise it was a miserable experience with the office staff. You can’t ever get ahold of anyone on the phone. Once I called the office and received no response to save myself from walking over, but when I did the two ladies were just sitting there and chatting with each other. They have posted office hours but I found more often than not that they were not in the office. The communication with residents is bad. I think during my time here I got maybe five or six emails. Most of them were “raffles” for money off your rent if you paid your rent before the 1st of the next month. They NEVER held these raffles, so I believe they just wanted to get people to pay sooner so they had money to cover their bills. They occasionally put paper notices on doors, but rarely was it a 24hr notice. I’ve had a pest control guy apologize when I told him I didn’t know he’d be coming around. Melissa is very rude and treats you as beneath her. I’ve asked several simple questions and been responded to as if I’m stupid. I also approached her about very high electric bills (and you WILL have them) and telling her that the apartment paint holding heat and there may be leaks. I increasingly became upset about this because I am one person and a dog. Through the cold months my thermostat was between 63-65, I rarely use lights except at night, and I was getting $300 bills. This does not make sense. Melissa responded with “everyone complains about their bills” and when I said “f you” on my way out— she said it back to me. She did not offer any empathy or genuine concern for a real issue. She actually threatened to call cops on me, but I said one swear word and was mad about a bill. Maybe I should’ve let her so she can explain to THEM why she wouldn’t help me or actually try to diffuse the problem. 🙄 There are no amenities here. They may say they are making improvements, but the pool has been sitting there as a mess for years. All they do is decorate their office. There is a gym, but when they completed it they never announced it was open, so who knows if it really is. Unless it snows a foot, they do not do any snow removal and they do not put down any salt or anything to keep residents safe. You also need to be aware that outdoor lighting is very poor here. At night it is quite dark. My catalytic converter was stolen in front of my apartment in Oct 2025. While they couldn’t necessarily do anything about my situation, I notified the office staff and all the girl at the front desk did was shrug and say “ok”. During my time here the crime has gone up. I know a sweet resident that was brutally attacked by a drugged neighbor during the summer of 2026. I’ve also called the cops on some kids banging up an abandoned car in our lot. Some residents also don’t leash their dog, which makes an anxious dog like mine feel unsafe. I’ve bet some nice neighbors here, but otherwise this place kept getting worse during my time there and it is no longer a safe place to live. Much too expensive with no real benefits or care for residents.

  Melissa is the best! She worked with us to find the perfect apartment for me and my roommate’s needs and she consistently addressed any issues that arose throughout our time at SoDel. She is such a hard worker and I don’t know what SoDel would do without her!!
