I’ve had a great experience here. The community is well maintained, the staff is friendly and responsive, and maintenance requests are handled quickly. The location is convenient, and the overall atmosphere feels welcoming and comfortable. Definitely a place I would recommend to others looking for a new home.

Don't ignore the bad reviews like I did. Where do I even begin? They never answer the phone so you can't get in touch unless you go in person which is hard to do when you work full time. I missed plenty of work because they neglect the neighborhood during winter. Dogs running around unleashed. They say they'll address it but don't. They lie and give you misinformation. Only gave me $88 out of my $500 deposit after telling me the small holes in my walls from hanging pictures was normal wear and tear, and not to worry about it. I would have patched them myself! upped my rent over $240 in a second floor, unrenovated 1 bed apartment after only being there 1 year. Packages get stolen - say they'll address it and never do. Lawn care is never done. Maintenance is lazy. Yoga studio was NEVER fixed in the year i was there and paying for it so don't let that persuade you. Gym is never actually secure. Pot holes are horrible. Water will get turned off with no warning, sometimes up to a full day. The staff is full of sheisty, lying people and they know exactly what they did to me. This experience was horrid and I'm warning you, don't move here. They should be ashamed. Karma is real.

Staff not very friendly or professional. Approved me but didn’t send paperwork over so I lost the townhouse I was approved for. Reapplied and got denied. Staff does not answer phone or return phone calls. Went in and finally spoke to someone. They emailed home office to push my approval through and promised to call me back in a week. $120, no apartment and 6 weeks later still no communication from the staff. So glad I went elsewhere and got a cheaper nicer apartment. Do not recommend this community

I would strongly recommend avoiding The Villages of Wildwood. Our entire move-in process was extremely frustrating from start to finish. We were sent multiple leases, the rent numbers kept changing, our unit changed, and the move-in date was even scheduled for a day the office was closed. That was only corrected because we reached back out to double-check, which then resulted in yet another lease change. We also had major issues getting Duke Energy set up. Duke told us the address was not listed as a service address and said the property needed to contact them. It took multiple emails before the leasing agent actually reached out to Duke, and the issue still was not resolved until after our scheduled move-in date. The welcome letter also had the incorrect security deposit listed and they we had to provide another check for more money. The worst part was the condition of the apartment when we were given the keys. Before seeing the unit, we asked if it had been inspected before move-in and were told yes, and that maintenance had been in the unit the day before. However, once we got inside, it was clear the apartment had not been properly cleaned or inspected. The unit was disgusting and dirty. There was door and floor damage, dead bugs, the laundry doors were not installed correctly and would not shut, blocking some of the hallway, a dirty towel was left in one of the bathrooms, the carpet was pulled up, and a space heater was left in the unit. We were also told the unit had been vacant since November, which made the condition even more concerning. If the apartment had been empty for that long, I do not understand how it was still handed over in that condition. These were only the issues we noticed immediately upon our first walk-through, which made us very concerned about what other problems may have been overlooked. When we showed photos of the issues, we were simply told they would put in a maintenance ticket for Monday morning after our Saturday move-in. We came back Monday around noon and nothing had been done in the unit. They were still arguing with Duke about the power issue, and we were told they had lost the maintenance key and had been unable to enter the apartment until we came back and gave them our keys. At that point, we spoke with the property manager, who said they were doing their best, but that the apartment issues likely would not be fixed until closer to the end of the week. We were told our options were basically to wait or move into a much more expensive unit. Ultimately, we requested a refund and found a different property to move to because we no longer felt comfortable moving forward with this apartment. To their credit, they did issue the refund, but the experience leading up to that point was unacceptable. Between the lease issues, incorrect charges and information, power problems, poor communication, and the unacceptable condition of the apartment at move-in, this was by far one of the worst rental experiences I have had. I would not recommend these apartments.

Co-living with raccoons in attic the whole year AND hvac never worked. Management said when i first moved in that it's the vents that need to be replaced and never heard back. Summer time, spent the days in 80°+ weather in my top floor apartment. Winter time, spent the days bundled up in the 60° or less apartment. The pool was closed for the summer except 2-3 weeks. Roads are never done - always potholes. No lighting on the roads. Ice/salt process was not good as we had ice on roads for DAYS. I've lived here before but it's never been as bad as this lease year. ALSO, I signed a lease for a set price - keys were to be obtained on a sunday (confirmed with leasing agent beforehand). sunday comes around but the office is closed so just because I picked up the keys one day earlier, my lease increased by almost 200 each month. Never signed a new lease agreement.
