  The worst people I’ve ever dealt with in my life! I was charged $50 for having a sign at my door that didn’t affect anyone. The people who used the place had the power to do whatever they wanted, just because they could. It wasn’t about making things better; it was about making people’s lives harder, especially if you weren’t American. They treated us like animals, harassing us and being incredibly racist about nationality. They looked down on us as if we were beneath them. And here’s another story. One of my neighbors had exactly the same bricks that I was charged $50 for. Even though I had gotten approval from the president of the board, they decided to change their minds as a board. They claimed that the president hadn’t discussed this with them, so they made me remove the bricks. After a while, I realized that one of my neighbors had the same bricks for more than six years and they never spoke to him because he’s white and American.

  I want to take a moment to recognize our Community Association Manager, Jenny Miller. I've been a condominium owner in our community for seven years, and over that time we've had several different managers. Unfortunately, it wasn't always easy to get a response or timely communication. However, the last two years with Jenny have been amazing. Jenny has been the complete opposite. Whether it's a phone call, text message, weekday, evening, or even the weekend, she has always been responsive, professional, and focused on finding a solution. I've never heard, "I'm off," or "I'm on vacation." Her attitude has always been, "Let's get it done." It's rare to find someone so dedicated, dependable, and genuinely committed to the people they serve. Jenny, thank you for everything you do for our community and for always being there when we need you. It has truly been a pleasure working with you.

  Do not use Associa. They take your dues and do nothing to earn them. Every issue gets reported, gets a ticket number, and then gets closed with a canned "we're aware of it" — nothing actually gets fixed. It took over a year for them to source a $100 wooden picnic table from Home Depot. Meanwhile real safety and health issues sit ignored indefinitely. Our park has low spots that collect standing water outside the retention pond, bad enough that the local health department has had to come treat it for mosquito-borne illness risk. Entrance signage has spent more time on the ground than mounted. Entrances themselves sat unlandscaped and choked with weeds for months at a time. Associa doesn't manage anything. They collect fees, ignore residents, and let vendors do whatever they want with zero accountability. If you're deciding on an HOA management company, choose literally anyone else. Associa is not worth a single dollar of your dues.

  I am extremely disappointed with the condition of our neighborhood (Tarlton Meadows) under the current HOA management. The lack of maintenance has become impossible to ignore. Weed growth throughout the common areas is excessive, many of the community fences are overdue for painting and repairs, and there are areas with standing water that have been left unaddressed for far too long. Not to mention the three entrance points to the neighborhood have gone without signs for at least 6 months. Homeowners pay HOA dues with the expectation that the community will be properly maintained and that issues affecting both appearance and safety will be addressed in a timely manner. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience. I hope the HOA takes these concerns seriously and begins investing in the upkeep of the neighborhood. Our community deserves better maintenance and more accountability.

  1 star is too high. Associa has done a terrible job managing our HOA which is still under their control as our subdivision is still being built. From them not managing the landscapers (we’ve gone through 2-3 over 3 years), ignoring home owner request/reports or just telling us broken signs, weeds in mulch beds, and standing water in the park is normal and to be expected and failing to maintain the subdivision. They just take our money and ignore the home owners. As soon as we can transition away we will. They just keep increasing our annual dues without doing anything to maintain the subdivision. I would not recommend them even if they were free. 1 star is too high… Edit: Increasing to a 3 star for now. Associa reached out and addressed my concerns, some of which isn’t in their control but the expectation as the management company is to communicate with the homeowners which has been lacking. Time will tell if they follow through on commitments and improve communication.
