  Scott came recommend by 2 retired inspectors. Communication was great, easy process and he was extremely thorough. Shows up on time ready to go. Very informative, friendly and knowledgeable. I am impressed with his service and report. This was a presale condo inspection and we are very happy with the cost and results. We highly recommend Scott for you inspection needs.   Scott was very professional and I felt he was VERY thorough. He was willing to explain anything if I needed it. I would recommend him to others. I didn’t price around for inspections, so I don’t know how he matched up to others but I felt he was worth it.

  Before hiring any contractor, I'm the type of person who does a deep dive into reviews and their background. I found Scott through Google Reviews because I wanted an independent inspector who takes pride in his work and stands behind his reputation—not a large inspection company where the experience can vary depending on which inspector you happen to get. Scott was professional, thorough, communicative, and punctual. He took the time to explain what he was seeing, answered every question I had, and delivered a detailed report very quickly after the inspection. One piece of advice I'd give to any homebuyer: walk through the inspection with your inspector. Ask questions, point out anything that seems unusual to you, and have Scott explain what's normal, what isn't, and what was typical for the age of the home. While he's focused on one area, you may notice something else worth discussing. Four eyes are always better than two. It's important to understand that no inspector will find every single issue. Some areas simply aren't accessible, and it's impossible to uncover everything during even the most thorough three-hour inspection. That said, having someone as meticulous as Scott dramatically increases your chances of catching the important items. His inspection was so comprehensive that we're using his report as the roadmap for future repairs and maintenance. We ultimately purchased the home he inspected, and although it was an as-is sale with an information-only inspection, his findings gave us the documentation we needed to successfully negotiate repairs for several safety-related issues. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, detail-oriented inspector who genuinely cares about doing the job right, I highly recommend Scott at SJ Inspections. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.
