  This place is extremely dangerous and poorly run. Homeless people easily snuck into the parking garage and there was a serious incident when my daughter lived there where a worker for the apartment exposed himself on a Saturday morning when the building was quiet and nobody was around. Luckily she screamed and the worker ran off but it could have been a much worse situation. The police ended up catching the person but it shows how dangerous and poorly run this apartment is. They also try to scam people on the backend end on the security deposit when you move out.

  **BEWARE**. My daughter had to deal with mold issues that they would not address until I stepped in and threatened to call the Health Department. Black dust comes out of duct work. They will hit you with tons of fees to repaint for the next tenant even though it’s normal wear and tear and should be expected when turning over an apartment.

  Don’t be swayed by Google’s 4.2 star rating. While this is a fabulous location you’d be hard pressed to find happy tenants here. First, sort your Google reviews by “Newest” because Statehouse took over around August 2024 so reviews older than that are essentially irrelevant. Now scan down and note how many of the 5-star reviews are rating either the tour or the tour guide (seems there must be an enticement to lead a glowing review after taking a tour) but how tenants don’t share their enthusiasm. We spent about $45,000 in rent here for the last two years and the management team excels at over-promising, under-delivering, making excuses, and then over-charging on your way out the door. That fancy gym? The equipment stays broken for months on end. Then they closed it for “remodeling” that continued indefinitely, with nothing more than minor cosmetic updates. I think we paid another $175/month for “secure” parking. The garage was damaged and couldn’t be closed or secured for 8 weeks. There’s about 100 cars in that space, so Statehouse collects $17,500/month, or an additional $35,000 for the two months they didn’t repair it. No rush to repair it, no temporary security guard, no partial refunds… just a politely-worded “tough luck”. This was a premium property when it was The Wellington but it’s been sliding down hill fast ever since. Proceed with caution. They’ll dazzle you, charge you as much as possible, and provide as little as legally required. I’d look elsewhere. PS: They could have prevented this review by not charging us for $188 in undocumented damages but they’re so greedy they couldn’t see the bigger picture.

  I wish I could give this place 0 stars. The staff and everyone in that place are incredibly unhelpful and will charge you for everything and anything. The only good aspect of it is the distance to campus. Beside that this place will do nothing but raise your rent (after claiming to be rent stabilized), give you hundreds of maintenance issues and charge you extra fees because they had to “paint your room” yet when you get to your room there are command hooks all over the walls from the past tenant. This place is absolutely ridiculous and I do not see how student legal services has not had it shut down yet. Also the staff gets incentives when you right a good review with there name on it and that is where all the 5 star reviews are coming from.
