TLDR, 3 stars for being over all nice apartments and friendly community, but thin walls/floors and parking are the physical issues. The electric bill in the winter time, and management are the other complaints.
I will start with the positives, The apartments are nice and actually have somewhat of a "luxury" feel. Living on the third floor is great and the vaulted ceilings make the place feel very spacious. The club house is very clean and doesn't ever get too crowded. We love our neighbors, they are all super kind, but that is subject to change with time and building. the golf simulator is clean and you can usually reserve it within the week. lastly, the ladies at the front desks are super kind and helpful and you can say the same for Connor the maintenance guy.
For the Negatives...
1- The Parking is AWFUL! after 4 pm during the week or anytime on the weekend, you have to do loops around the complex looking for spots. they have recently started issuing parking passes but it likely won't change anything.
2- While on the topic of parking I would like to add that it is risky. Car break ins happen everywhere, but this areas is a little worse than expected. In my 12 months of living here, 3 different times, my truck has either been broken into, bed cover slashed, and keyed/damaged.
2.5- The most infuriating time was when I observed the mulching company working besides and behind my truck in the morning. I went to my truck later, to find it had been scratched all down the sides of it. (note, residents did not receive any notice from management of them working on property so we could try and park accordingly). the damaged to my paint cost insurance $3,700 to fix and myself my $500 deductible. At the time, Kempton did not have any cameras outside, I had to ask a resident who had a camera on his garage. trying to work with the mulching company to cover damages, it lead to nothing, on top of that, management left me high and dry to deal with THEIR sub-contractor alone and unrepresented. Kempton then tried blaming or suggesting, that it is someone targeting me personally, (that infuriated me) things like this have been happening to others as well. Since then, they have installed 4-5 cameras.... In the least useful spots possible.
3- Over the winter, the electric bill was almost $600 for 2 months. We are anal when it comes to electric use, we turn of the lights in every room, keep the place at a sweltering 66 degrees, used ECO heating settings on appliances, limited hot showers and oven use. despite all that we still were paying an astronomical electric bill... to a company they own none the less. They did however recently install new windows that were suspected to be part of the issue but I am not convinced, I guess we will see this winter.
4- The walls are thin. we can clearly hear our neighbors conversation, closing doors, walking up the stairs. we have heard from others in the community that the floors are no different, being on the third floor we don't notice it as much but I do not doubt it one bit.
3 things to note, Not complaints but things to be aware of
1- There is a train right next to the complex, we don't notice it anymore but it can shake the house at times.
2- there is a rehab down the street from the complex that is frequented by the fire department, some times they are nice and turn their sirens off, other times not so much,
3- the street right out side of the complex can be a bit of a racetrack and disturbing at night.
We had a wonderful experience at the Kempton apartment. Everything was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described.
A special thank you to Sheetansha, who was incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful throughout our stay. She was always available whenever we needed anything and made us feel truly welcome. Her excellent communication and care made our experience even better.
We highly recommend this apartment and would definitely stay here again. Thank you, Sheetansha, for all your help!
I parked in the same spot for over a year without a single issue. Then one day, with no warning, my car was suddenly towed. It was incredibly frustrating and cost me a lot of time and money.
Car towed from residential parking even after I completed the required paperwork. Better communication and a warning would have prevented this frustrating experience.
I called management to explain the situation, but they told me my car was parked in the wrong spot and that I was responsible for paying the towing fee. They did not offer any solution or assistance. I had to call a second time just to get the towing company’s information so I could locate my vehicle and resolve the issue.
I hope management improves communication and gives residents proper notice before taking such extreme action. This was a very disappointing experience.
We truly appreciate the team at the leasing office. Sheetansha has been especially wonderful. She is always welcoming, kind, and professional. Whenever we have questions or need help, she responds quickly and patiently, even when English is difficult for us. She always makes us feel comfortable and supported. Our daughter adores her and thinks of her like a big sister.
We also appreciate the other office staff and the maintenance team. Everyone has been professional, respectful, and willing to help whenever we needed assistance.
Thank you, Sheetansha, and the entire team, for your kindness and support.
