  I currently live here, and the apartment's AC has been broken since we moved in, in July. It doesn't blow cold air. I have called maintenance and the property manager about the issue, but to this day, the AC still hasn't been fixed. They did give us a temporary unit; however, during heat waves, it's super hot in this apartment. I wouldn't recommend moving in here at all.

  Edit: Funny how an hour after this review the manager now sends my boyfriend an email saying they are issuing a check because the application was NOT cancelled for the past two weeks I have been awaiting an answer and emailing them. We also have to wait for a check now despite the timeline given of two weeks. Poor business. Poor communication. Poor property management. So much for empathy and customer service. They like to steal people’s money. After multiple attempts of trying to get confirmation that our application was cancelled after a denial (which is perfectly fine) and a refund of our admin fee has been issued, the property has stopped responding. It’s very unprofessional as a property to ignore people. Seems like we dodged a bullet based on the reviews of how they can’t even fix their resident’s issues in a timely manner.

  Honestly, this whole place needs to be condemned and shut down. Zero maintenance outside of mowing and shoveling lots. All the apartments leak water and they all have to be moldly. The windows leak. The ceilings leak. The walls bow. Rent is outrageously high. Staff turnover is ridiculous. Did I mention that the apartments flood? It's owned by a bunch of lowlifes in Detroit who take money and don't honor their responsibilities. I know 6 people who've lived here. A bad experience is not an isolated thing. My daughter lives here. Her heat went out this winter. It took a month to get it fixed. Her apartment has flooded twice. Her ceiling leaks, and I don't mean it drips, the water runs, and she's in a basement unit. Her stove doesn't work properly and it apparently can't be fixed. Her washer and dryer have broken down several times - she went two weeks without them at one point. Did I mention that the rent is high, for an apartment that floods regularly because a bunch of lowlife scumbags refuse to maintain it? Oh yeah, the policy, according to the people working here, is that they can't spend money on anything until it catastrophically fails. This place doesn't suffer from neglect, it's run badly on purpose in order to make as much money as possible. The people who own it expect insurance to pay for their willful and intentional negligence. There are laws regarding landlords and their obligations, but the people who own this place apparently think they can hide behind lawyers and let insurance companies cover their costs. Don't move here. Live out of your car first if you have to. Oh, and it's infested with rats. You can see them running around at night. Not mice. Rats. Big old rats, with rat holes next to the buildings. Also, the stairs are all falling apart. The concrete ones are chipped and shifted, the wooden ones have nails coming out. And the gym is a dump. Just a terrible place. Edit: Notice that the 5 star reviews are mostly from accounts with only one review. Very sus. Edit 2: Added pictures. The close up of the ground is a rat hole I've seen them scurry down.

  Despite what I’m about to tell you, I’m not saying you shouldn’t live here. I just think you should know all the facts before you decide to move in. I’ll start with the good: - Fair rent prices for what you get and great amenities. I still miss the island in our kitchen. The pool, gym, club house seating, dog wash/playground were. The parking is great and you don’t have to pay for a pass. There’s an Amazon locker for your packages. Basketball court. - Location: close to OSU campus if you’re a student or work there but also close to 315 so that nothing seems that far of a drive. There’s a lot of good Asian places around if you like that cuisine (looking at you Tensuke ramen). - Spacious master bedroom! And walk in closet! - Washer and dryer are nice AND included. - We got our full security deposit back after move out. Ok now here is all the things we had to deal with in the single year we lived there (I’m starting with the least problematic and working my way up). - The street/parking area by us kept flooding for a month because of a burst pipe that took forever to fix (now, is this the city and not the complex, I don’t know). This also caused sediment to get enter our water pipes (which if you didn’t know, you need to flush them out. The office did not tell anyone that so we were lucky to already have this knowledge) - A car was stolen by the Kia boys and taken for a joy ride around the complex. How do we know this? We witnessed it and the police coming afterward. So fun! Lock your cars people. - There was a point where they for some reason, had to replace every single outlet. This involved us having to move anything covering an outlet out of the way (couch, bed, tables, etc) and having people in our apartment for a good 4+ hours. - This was separate from the time where they had someone come in to spray for bugs for what we thought was regular maintenance (thankfully we never dealt with bugs but there WAS a bug problem and we found this out because the bug guy came in and a immediately started looking up at the ceilings and down at the floor and asked us if we’ve seen any bugs around). For this, we had to move EVERYTHING out of our kitchen cabinets AND move the furniture 2 inches off the wall. Imagine how much time this took us to do. Although for not having bugs, I will jump through any hoop you want me to. - Upon move in, the apartment was not cleaned. It’s been 3 years so I don’t have the pictures anymore but the kitchen was filthy, I’m talking grime on all surfaces. So we had to scramble to deep clean the kitchen with all of our stuff in boxes. Let’s just say a few tears were shed. When I emailed the office, they didn’t really seem that apologetic and never followed up again about the cleaning. In hindsight I should’ve pushed harder for some kind of compensation or resolution but I digress. - This is the worst one. Our row of apartments CAUGHT ON FIRE. I’ll spare you the long details but it originated from the electric box on the side of the far end unit. We watched the roof catch on fire and sprinted to our complex to grab our cat and personal belongings. If you were wondering about the response time of the fire department, good news, it’s pretty fast! Thankfully because of how old the building are, there’s brick firewalls separating some of the units so we were spared. However the end unit where it started was torched and remained that way the rest of the lease term. The office NEVER reached out to use or alerted everyone as to what happened. It was a terrifying experience. If you hadn’t noticed a pattern, there’s a lack of communication (and seemingly concern) from management/leasing so if that’s a deal breaker for you, I do not recommend living here. However, if you are willing to go through major and minor inconveniences to have a good rent price and good location, good luck Charlie.

  First off, I want to shout out Mz Beth Nguyen! When I first applied, she took me on a quick tour of the model apartment & the property (gym, clubhouse, pool area, game room, ball court, etc) & i immediately thought that I would be shot down due to my credit. I told her what was on my credit report, was honest with everything, & she said that she would advocate for me. I got an email less than a week later with move in date & how much the deposit would be 😳! Nevermind the fact that I got denied for another apt on Steltz (at the same time, in a less desirable area). Mz Nguyen was more excited for me than I was lol. Moved in, haven't had any major issues, only put in a couple maintenance request, (small things that i probably couldve done myself) where at the apt complex where i stayed at previously, i was putting in a maintenance request every other week for water leaks or toilet issues. I love the area, it's quiet, its calm, when I come home I have somewhere to park, even if I come in at the wee hrs of the morning, I can park directly in front of my bedroom window! The parking spots arent all taken the resident "visitors" #EyeRoll. I stay in a nice, easy to find spot...I didnt hear gunshots on New Years (iykyk), I get peaceful rest every nite. The gym, the premises, the pool, the grill area...everything is absolutely great!
