Aiden was so helpful with the whole process from start to finish. He showed me any apartment I asked to see and if something wasn’t available to look at he took the time to show me something similar when possible. He made the application process clear and easy to understand and answered any questions I had. Every space I looked at was clean, renovated and checked all the right boxes. I’m very impressed with the Venue and their employees.

I lived here for over a year and wanted to share some observations about building maintenance, infrastructure, and management responsiveness that prospective renters may want to consider. For some reasons, the review does not show up with the photos and videos I’ve taken. The noise level is very high, even at midnight. It can be partying or just yelling. The garage door was reportedly out of service for months. Elevator service was also inconsistent. Although there are four elevators in the building, it often felt as though only one or two were operating, resulting in long wait times and frequent inconvenience for residents. I’ve received more than a dozen notifications regarding broken elevators. I also personally observed bats inside the building, which was surprising in a residential property of this size and price point. The parking garage presented its own challenges. Water intrusion and standing water were recurring issues in certain areas. When I requested alternative parking spaces, several of the options provided were either already occupied or located in areas affected by water accumulation. I was also involved in a vehicle damage incident in the garage. Because there were no surveillance cameras available to review, there was little ability to investigate what happened or identify the responsible party. There is rust on my car as a result of the water. The building's cooling system was another source of frustration. During my first summer living here, the air conditioning worked normally. This summer, however, the cooling system experienced problems for an extended period. Following a power outage, my unit began blowing extreme hot air even though it was set to cooling mode. I waited for communication from management because I was unsure whether they were aware of the issue or whether the system was functioning as intended in the building. After receiving no meaningful update, I called the office myself. The response I received left me with the impression that resident concerns were often treated as inconveniences rather than issues requiring clear communication and follow-up. Common area cleanliness was also inconsistent. On one occasion, there was human waste inside an elevator. I have seen police multiple times due to the violence and fighting. There were multiple cases at midnight where I heard someone yelling and crying in the hallway.

I rarely leave reviews, but after over a year living here, I feel future renters deserve to know my experience. Beginning in early April, persistent smoke-like odors repeatedly entered my apartment in what is advertised as a non-smoking community. The odor affected my bedroom, closet, and living room. Sometimes it smelled like marijuana smoke, while other times it smelled like active burning. The problem was not occasional. It continued for months despite repeated reports to management. The situation became severe enough that I was effectively forced to stop using my bedroom and move my sleeping and living space into the living room. I kept the bedroom ventilated for approximately two weeks, including leaving windows open for extended periods, but the odor remained. Even entering the room to organize or pack belongings often caused dizziness and discomfort. What ultimately disappointed me most was not just the odor itself, but how the situation was handled. Throughout this process, management repeatedly explained what they could not do. I was told that they could not knock on a resident's door, even if smoking activity was actively occurring, because doing so could disturb that resident. I was repeatedly told about New York State laws and the rights of other residents. However, when I discuss my rights under this law, they will just say they can’t do it. I leased and paid for a one-bedroom apartment, yet for a significant period of time I was unable to use the bedroom for its intended purpose. The proposed solutions were also difficult to understand. At one point, management asked whether I had local family or friends that I could stay with. I said no. Shortly afterward, one of the two solutions presented was the option to terminate my lease early. I waited for a month to hear any details about the transferable apartments, but all I have heard is that it is going to be expensive because there are costs from the apartment’s side. From my perspective, this felt less like a resolution and more like being asked to leave my home because of a problem I had repeatedly reported but could not control. Another transfer option would have required me to pay additional costs. Later, an assistant manager offered a transfer to a comparable one-bedroom apartment at the same rent, but the unit would not become available until approximately one month after my lease ended. It is hard to tell whether she was joking or trying to help. While I appreciate that management may have been trying to offer alternatives, none of these options restored my ability to use the one-bedroom apartment that I was actively paying for at the time.

Absolute worst place to live in Rochester. Hallways constantly smell like rotting garbage from overflow and garbage day not being frequent enough. Lines weren’t painted in the parking lot for over a year so everyone parked wherever they wanted. They have 2 maintenance techs working across multiple buildings so if anything is wrong it will take weeks for them to fix it. Hot water goes out in the building every other week. Building is old and has mold growing in most corners and doorways. Management is not responsive after you move in. Pool is disgusting and only open while you’re at work. Only convenient for the location. Quite honestly I could write a book about why I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Save your money.
