Avoid Shearwood: "Modernized" Elevators Are a Dangerous Failure
I have lived at Shearwood for 2.5 years, and the situation has become completely unacceptable. For nearly two years, we endured an "elevator modernization project" that was supposed to fix frequent breakdowns. Despite the project ending months ago, the elevators are now in a worse state than before. They fail 2–3 mornings each week, forcing residents to navigate the stairs. Today, I had to walk down over 10 flights of stairs just to leave my home. When the elevators actually do work, they now stop at every single floor on the way down, even when the buttons aren't pushed. If you're coming from the 15th floor, be prepared to stop at every level. For a building with "luxury" rent rates, this level of mechanical incompetence is damning.
Beyond the 'elevator' nightmare, basic utility and maintenance standards are nonexistent. The hot water takes a full 5 minutes to heat up, forcing you to either waste water or start your morning with a room-temperature shower. The window blinds are incredibly fragile; they constantly fall down, requiring a never-ending cycle of maintenance requests.
The building is simply poorly managed. Packages are frequently dumped in piles of 20–30 in a huge locker, forcing you to dig through everyone else's deliveries to find your own at the bottom. The HVAC system is equally frustrating, using outdated wall boxes with no centralized thermostat that leave your apartment either freezing or stifling. You are paying an absolute premium for a building that fails to meet the most basic standards of modern living. Do not bother.

4. They recycle EVERYTHING Such as Washers,Dryers, refrigerator and Don’t let me get started with their terrible elevator system that people have to wait on long lines for ! You’ll never come and see all four elevators working I bet my life on it !
5. They’ll increase your electricity bill put the blue just because and have no concrete explanation.
I’ve seen so much people moving in and out of this building that it’s actually very weird but I understand now ! They over charge and their service is BS .
If you think you got a steal think again I promise you it’s a terrible building SWEAR TO GOD. Their marketing is great though lol
April 29th UPDATE: I strongly agree with Griffin and the growing number of tenants speaking out about what’s happening in this building. It is completely unacceptable, and at this point, it feels like outright disregard for the people who live here.
The constant elevator failures aren’t just an inconvenience, they’re a serious quality-of-life issue that management has failed to address with any urgency or competence. Good luck if there’s an emergency. Pair that with outrageously high utility bills that come with zero explanation or transparency, and it’s clear tenants are being left in the dark while continuing to pay the price.
What makes this even worse is management’s attitude. Instead of taking responsibility, they’ve been consistently dismissive and condescending, as if tenant concerns are an annoyance rather than legitimate issues that demand immediate action. That kind of response only reinforces the perception that they simply do not care.
Most alarming, though, is the complete breakdown in basic safety and security. The garage gates are routinely left open, effectively inviting anyone inside. There have been repeated sightings of homeless individuals sleeping on the first floor, and multiple reports of people roaming the halls, checking apartment doors to see if they’re unlocked. Break-ins have also occurred. This is not speculation, this is a pattern, and it puts every resident at risk. The email sent on April 24th titled “community reminders and building policies” only proves that management is fully aware of the issues in this building. Yet instead of being transparent and taking corrective actions about what’s actually happening, they’ve chosen to downplay the severity and shift the narrative onto residents.
At this point, it’s hard to avoid the conclusion that management is either unwilling or incapable of maintaining a safe, secure, and properly functioning building. Tenants deserve far better than this level of negligence. We as tenants need to collectively come together and create change!
(1st REVIEW) Living at Shearwood Station has been extremely frustrating due to ongoing management issues that are consistently ignored. Management is unresponsive to serious concerns, including the lack of consistency with working elevators and broken garage doors that remain unrepaired for extended periods of time. This has led to safety issues, such as homeless individuals sleeping in the garage, which residents have reported repeatedly with no meaningful action taken.
In addition to safety concerns, basic property upkeep is neglected. Garbage frequently overflows, creating unsanitary conditions and attracting pests. Despite multiple complaints, these issues persist. However, management will send multiple threatening emails when they see fit.
Perhaps most concerning is the unexplained increase in utility charges. During the winter months, residents see their electric bills increase by at least $200 per month with no clear explanation or transparency from management. Requests for clarification are ignored or brushed off, leaving residents to absorb unjustified costs. At this point, all residents should reach out to the Attorney General's Office for assistance.
Overall, Shearwood Station shows a lack of accountability, poor communication, and disregard for resident safety and financial concerns. I would not recommend this property to ANYONE expecting responsive management or a well maintained community.

DO NOT MOVE HERE!
I ordered groceries night and someone stole them right off the "delivery table"- it's been 24 hours and no one has even bothered to say or do anything'! In the video you can see someone take MY groceries. I've lived here for 4 years and them not doing anything to help is incredible!!! They want payments on time and everything else but don't care about their resident! Move ANYWHEREEE BUT HERE!!
This building sells a luxury image; what it actually does is collect rent and ignore people. Management stages tours and plays public relations while the property runs on negligence.
Strangers camp in stairwells for months with zero enforcement. Trash areas overflow day after day- it’s routine, not occasional. Abandoned cars rot in the lot with flat tires and nobody acts. Management posts countless “no storage” emails yet lets bikes and junk pile up everywhere. A verified disability accommodation supported by a doctor’s note was acknowledged, then ignored. When residents speak up, management fabricates “smoking” complaints to intimidate tenants who pay on time and keep to themselves.
This isn’t accidental. It’s performative staging, deliberate disregard, and active disrespect. They sell a lifestyle in photos and deliver chaos in practice. If you value integrity or your safety, do not sign here.
Photos attached below show what residents actually deal with. All recent, unedited, and firsthand.
