My experience with Calm has not been pleasant at all. On move-in day and after receiving access to my apartment and the complex, management and property maintenance failed to keep up with the agreement of having the apartment move-in ready upon my move-in date.
-Sanitation: the floors were entirely unwashed and covered in what appeared to be drywall dust and debris, and to add the area beneath the kitchen sink still contained the same exact sand and debris that I pointed out during my tour, three weeks prior to my move-in-date.
-Structural Damage: the walls and door frames featured new dents, dings, and holes that were not present during my initial viewing.
Improper Insulation: the windows in both the living room and bedroom were visibly unsealed.
-Substandard Repairs: the majority of the "maintenance" work consisted of poor, incomplete patchwork. Most notably, the showerhead. The showerhead was entirely un-caulked, leaving a large, exposed hole in the bathroom wall.
In addition to the physical state of the apartment, the lack of conduct with the staff, Yannet and Griselda left me no choice but to withdraw from my lease. When I brought up these issues to their attention, I was repeatedly "assured" that Carlos from maintenance was en route, however no one arrived. Moreover, when I requested an on-site manager or representative to complete a physcial walk through with me, it took Yannet and Griselda almost an hour and another phone call to the office for them arrive at the unit. Just for them to be dismissive and unprofessional about the state of the apartment and consistly minimizing that the damages that were in the apertment by calling them "cosmetic" issues and blaming their own cleaning and construction crew as well as aggressively implying that I was being too picky about a clearly, unfinished unit.
