After living at Namaste Apartments for a year, I can honestly say that the condition of this property and the way management handles resident concerns have become completely unacceptable.
During my time here, I have experienced repeated maintenance problems that should never have required this much effort from a resident. I had to submit five separate work orders for my dishwasher before management finally replaced it. The replacement is yet another older unit that barely cleans the dishes, so the problem was essentially never resolved properly.
The bathtub has also been an ongoing issue. The caulking repeatedly cracks and comes loose, creating a serious concern about water getting behind the wall and potentially causing damage. The coating on the tub itself is also cracking and peeling off. On top of that, my kitchen faucet is leaking.
These maintenance issues are even more concerning now because Orkin advised me that moisture and leaking water can contribute to roach activity and make an infestation worse. Orkin also identified a hole around the pipes in my water heater closet that provides an easy entry point for cockroaches. These are not simply cosmetic issues. They are maintenance problems that need to be properly addressed, especially now that I am dealing with an active infestation.
Then came months of parking lot construction, followed by what has now become a serious roach infestation inside my apartment. After pest control was performed in the downstairs unit, roaches began appearing throughout my apartment — including in the bathtub, around the walls, and throughout the apartment.
I understand that construction and pest treatments can sometimes cause unexpected problems. What I do not understand or accept is being told that pest control would not come to my apartment for an entire week while I am expected to live with roaches everywhere.
Rather than waiting another week in these conditions, I was forced to take matters into my own hands and pay $510 out of my own pocket for Orkin to treat the problem.
What has been especially frustrating is the complete lack of empathy from management. Ashley, the manager, and Jada, her assistant, have shown very little concern for the fact that I am the resident who has been left dealing with this problem. Instead of simply acknowledging the situation and apologizing for the inconvenience, their response has focused on emails claiming that I was never told pest control would be coming and pointing out that they emailed me asking whether I could remove my pets.
That completely misses the point.
I should not have to rearrange my schedule, spend my own time, and pay hundreds of dollars out of pocket to address a pest problem that I did not cause. If management requires residents to prepare their apartments for treatment, there should be reasonable communication, adequate notice, and—most importantly—an actual sense of urgency when a resident is dealing with an active infestation.
At this point, my apartment does not feel sanitary, safe, or reasonably livable. After a year of repeated maintenance problems, an inadequate dishwasher replacement, deteriorating bathroom conditions, a leaking kitchen faucet, months of construction, and now a serious pest infestation—with Orkin identifying moisture concerns and a hole around the water heater pipes that provides an entry point for cockroaches—my experience at Namaste Apartments has been extremely disappointing.
Residents should not have to repeatedly fight to get basic maintenance issues addressed, nor should they be expected to tolerate an infestation for a week while waiting for management to respond.
I would not recommend Namaste Apartments based on my experience. Management needs to take resident concerns seriously, properly address maintenance and moisture issues, seal obvious pest entry points, respond to pest problems immediately, and show considerably more empathy and accountability toward the residents who are paying to live here.
