  They have changed their name but they are owned by a company in New York. They thought they were going to keep my security deposit for NO Reason. They thought wrong. I am a sharp Chicago girl

  I lived here for 2 years, alone and with roommates. Property managers are terrible at communication. For some issues, I would have to call multiple days in a row because I would get no callback or response to an email. They kept old roommates on the lease even after everyone signed a roommate release form. They also wouldn't notify everyone on the actual lease of important events that would affect them. When moving in, maintenance took some of my first roommates expensive work equipment (for baking) "by mistake." They did return it after multiple calls. Another roommate experienced workers (unsure if they were property employees or outside hires) asking to come into our apartment to use our power. Another time she came out of her bedroom to multiple men (again, unsure if they're employees or outside hires working on the apartment above ours) in our tiny yard searching for a screw/bolt/something inconsequential, they scared her half to death so she called management and Angel told her that it wasn't his responsibility and to call the police if she's concerned about her safety (also clued me into security not actually existing here). The apartment itself was okay—many outlets didn't work, the floor under the kitchen sink was incredibly warped, and a lot of the laminate wasn't installed correctly. We had ants all year long. Sugar ants are a problem for a lot of people in SF, but it seemed they were living in the walls. Clearly a dated apartment. On the second renewal offer, they tacked on prices for new features that we didn't have or had offered no explanation for. For our final rental payment, the (extremely dated) website wouldn't process a half payment for some reason, and the staff couldnt help us figure out how to do it (we were moving out halfway through the month). I was told by the office that it had been processed, and then told it hadn't been (weird), so I talked with Krystaljean on the phone (who was extremely rude, like usual) and via email about using a payment form. She said she would process it that day, but it would take 5-10 days to process out of my bank account. 8 days after that, I received a notice that we were being evicted for not paying rent, so I went to the office to talk with them about it. One employee told me we had been approved a half payment for the month prior. I then went to speak with Krystaljean, and she said she remembered our conversation and then said she didn't, and refused to look up any of the emails we had exchanged, so I had to find them and forward them to her so she didn't have to search through her email. Eventually, she realized we had paid rent on time, and it was indeed her mistake but offered no genuine apology, but that makes sense for someone who is habitually difficult to work with. Cut your losses, and find another place to live in Santa Fe if you can.
