No core values or mission statement for this company location at all. For them it’s all about the money. Communication good at first and once they have you, you’re placed on the back burner. They don’t know how their own process goes for land home packages, they had me trying to fill out the electrician form for PNM when it should have been their contractors and had me calling trying to set up an account for weeks when there was no electricity on the property. They do not stay on top of the contractors to make sure everything is actually getting done. If I had not been there calling PNM every week it would have taken a year or over a year to get in our home. 6 months our home just sat here and 10 months to finally get in. They take no ownership of there mistakes and are quick to throw everyone else under the bus or to say that they dropped the ball when really Oakwood should be on top of everything and making sure it’s getting done on time. Very disappointed on our first experience buying a home. Oakwood really ruined this experience for us. So now you know why we were so serious signing closing documents because we were so done with Oakwood and the lack of professionalism and communication. Sad to say I referred my sister in law here at the beginning and she experienced the EXACT same thing. Will never recommend Oakwood again.
Response to your comment below: Of course we are responsible for utilities after closing this is all before closing. You still don’t fully understand. It’s your responsibility to be on top of your contractors and companies you work with to make sure everything is getting done in a timely matter. But ok it’s others fault got it.

Mixed review to be honest. I am grateful to have my new home, however to process of buying was difficult. Horrible communication with broken promises made. The home itself is wonderful and has been great thus far. But it was mostly the customer service I had issues with. If I had to do it again I would but understand that in my opinion communication is the biggest flex any company can have and Oakwood struggles immensely with this. As a first time home buyer I expected a lot more communicating given I had no idea how the process works. But overall I got a house out of it so can’t complain too much.

We are very pleased with our experience with Oakwood Homes. Shannon went above and beyond to help us through our home buying process and was always available to answer any question I had. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to buy a new home.

I bought this home a year ago. I got a new home to not deal with problems but seems like I have more problems than ever before. So long story short my doors are not even I had called and told them about it first wind popped my storm doors opened and broke them off I had someone come and instead of fixing we got lectured about it was our fault they got blown opened funny because you can litterly see daylight threw the doors That’s one. Moldings are not good in this house. Cabinets very porly made And floors look like they are lifted in spots I have lumps all over the floors due to peaces of like foam under the vinyl and nails picking threw been complaining about this since day one a year later I still can’t get this fixed I talked to MIs Darla plenty of times seems like we can’t just get it fixed they sent Mr AL several times and he just comes and gives lectures like if we are some kids that don’t know anything they send him to fix things and he proceeds to say he can’t fix it that it’s the manufacturers job to fix that. Master bedroom door also the hinges ain’t even placed properly they don’t line up with the holes on the door and the moldings he did fixed. He fixed with glue. That now my whole edging on my island has yellow glue everywhere It’s smeared everywhere Floors also pop everywhere not even my 1970 mobile home sounds like that … the beems on the floor are lifted so bad you feel the most un even flooring
