  A big thank you to the maintenance team for their excellent service. I reported an issue with my apartment, and it was fixed perfectly on the same day. The response was very quick, professional, and efficient. I really appreciate how well the team takes care of residents and makes sure everything is working properly. Great job and thank you for the outstanding service! I would also like to give a special thank you to Mikenzie in the office. She was the first person we met when she showed us around the apartment and helped us through all the paperwork. She made our move-in process so smooth and stress-free. Mikenzie is very approachable, friendly, and always happy to help.

  I strongly advise against renting at Tradewinds Apartment Homes in Elkhorn, Nebraska. This place is one of the biggest regrets my partner and I have had in terms of housing. Between the constant nickel-and-diming, ridiculous restrictions, poor maintenance, and inconvenient location, it’s simply not worth it. The pet policies and move-out charges are especially outrageous. They will hit you with a full carpet replacement fee just for having pets, automatically blaming any spills or spots on “urine” regardless of the actual cause. Corporate even told us that “accidental spills don’t normally happen,” so if you ever have one, plan on being charged a full carpet replacement at move-out. It feels like a guaranteed scam. The entire community constantly smells of dog waste, especially the around buildings, if you face a little pond, gauranteed will smell of dog waste. Management does nothing about it despite multiple complaints. This isn’t just unpleasant, it’s a legitimate health hazard. The rules here are overly restrictive and petty. You can’t even set up basic privacy screens or coverings on your own balcony without them forcing you to remove it or fining you $300. They also prohibit alcoholic beverages at the pool, which feels excessive for adults trying to relax in their own community. It’s in the lease. I heard horror stories before moving in and have multiple friends who lived here in 2021 telling me it was not a good idea to move here, but we didn’t listen. They were right. The combination of feeling constantly policed and being located on the far south of Elkhorn means longer drives to everything, which adds up quickly in fuel costs. On top of everything else, they’re now introducing a new “convenience fee” for new tenants and will start charging existing residents in 2027. Just another way to squeeze more money out of people. If you’re looking for better options with more freedom, I highly recommend Fifty575 right across the street, you can have electric grills over there and decorate your home however you feel, and it is the same price point. For true luxury living, go with Trails at Northstreams. They offer valet trash! and the community actually smells clean and pleasant, and you don’t feel like you’re walking on eggshells every day. Save yourself the headache and money. Tradewinds is not it.
