I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with Ashford Place Apartment Homes since moving here from Chicago. Despite being advertised as an "elegant" complex, my experience has been far from it.
From day one, issues have plagued our unit. The toilet in the master bedroom was not flushing properly, which I fixed myself. Additionally, the tissue holder in the master bathroom is loose, and the one in the other bathroom was not installed at all upon our move-in.
The most significant and ongoing issue is the lack of reliable internet access. Our move-in date was delayed due to a city inspection and other obligations, but the absence of a working internet connection, a crucial utility in 2025, is the responsibility of Ashford Place. We are now in our third week without Wi-Fi due to severe wiring problems within our unit. This has significantly impacted our ability to work remotely, forcing us to rely on unreliable mobile hotspots.
When the Xfinity technician confirmed that a vacant ground-floor unit (K-106) had a working internet connection, I inquired about transferring to that unit. I was informed by the assistant manager that I would incur a $500 moving fee, despite the fact that the faulty wiring is clearly the fault of Ashford Place Apartment Homes, not mine. It is unreasonable to expect a tenant to pay to relocate due to the complex's inadequate infrastructure.
In 2025, reliable internet access is a fundamental necessity, especially for those who work from home. It is imperative that apartments, especially those marketed as "elegant," ensure that internet cables and wires are thoroughly inspected for reliability before new tenants move in.
Ultimately, the money paid for these apartments seems to only cover the quiet environment. There is nothing else special or elegant about Ashford Place Apartment Homes, and my experience thus far makes other apartments, especially those in Chicago's West Loop, seem far superior.
Ashford Place Apartments in Flowood is subpar.
1 ⭐ for quietness.
