  We lived at The Oliver for three years and three months. In that time, management change hands twice (from incompetent to merely pretty bad). Staff routinely cycled through without the residents knowing the names of these folks. Name tags would’ve been helpful. Other than the cafe and lobby area, the rest of the building is pretty dirty. Hall carpets rarely vacuumed, trash in the garage, holes in drywall and never fixed. (the doorway to the west 2nd floor stairwell has a drywall hole that’s been there for three years) There’s also a light fixture near that same west 2nd floor stairwell door that has been missing a sconce for three plus years. The first year we lived there, the pool was left uncovered throughout the fall and winter and was beyond disgusting. Custodial staff “cleaned” it but it never looked very clean to me so I never used it. The grills in the same area are filthy and need maintenance; I let a staffer know and she said she would alert the maintenance folks but the grills were still gross at the time we moved out at the end of June. There are two fire pits that are inoperable because of a gas line malfunction. I don’t believe that situation was ever remedied. Even though the property is non-smoking, a few residents smoke on their balconies. (the guys above us did but a staffer told me they couldn’t do anything to them unless they were caught in the act) The place has been open four years now but it looks like it’s older because the upkeep is subpar. It’s marketed as “luxury apartment living” but luxurious it ain’t. Within the first six months, we had all three bathroom faucets replaced. After two years, we had a new dishwasher installed. On the positive side, we did get our deposit back in a timely fashion, so there’s that. Honestly, I don’t like to post negative reviews but this place has so many issues that potential residents should know what they’re getting into if they sign a lease here.

  I recently toured The Oliver Apartments in Olivette, and I was truly impressed from start to finish. Amy, the property manager, was warm, knowledgeable, and incredibly welcoming. She took the time to answer every question thoroughly and made the entire experience feel personal and genuine. Emma, the assistant manager, was just as wonderful—friendly, professional, and clearly dedicated to creating a positive community atmosphere. Together, they make an excellent management team. I also had the chance to meet Calvin and Vernon from the maintenance staff, and it’s clear the property is in great hands. They were courteous, attentive, and take real pride in keeping the complex running smoothly and looking its best. Overall, the tour left me with a great first impression. The team at The Oliver truly stands out for their professionalism, kindness, and commitment to resident satisfaction. Highly recommend checking this place out!
