  I have been a resident of The Flats at Dorsett Ridge for nearly three years after relocating to the St. Louis area for work. When I first moved here, I expected this to be a community where I could comfortably renew my lease for years to come. Unfortunately, since the onset of the current management, I have watched the property steadily decline in quality. The cleanliness of the property has noticeably deteriorated. Pet urine and poop was even seen in the elevator, garage and sidewalks. Trash is frequently left in the hallways, around the trash chute, inside the gym, in the stairwells, and throughout the parking garage. These conditions create an unwelcoming environment and do not reflect the standards residents should expect. The noise has also become increasingly disruptive. Excessive noise including loud and obscene music regularly comes from neighboring apartments as well as from residents gathering on their balconies. It has become difficult to enjoy any sense of peace within my own home. Although this is advertised as a non-smoking property, there appears to be little or no enforcement of that policy. Residents and their guests smoke marijuana, cigarettes, and cigars not only inside their apartments, but also in the hallways, parking garage, pool area and both the front and side parking lots. This occurs throughout the day and evening, and the lack of enforcement gives the impression that the rule is not taken seriously. Additionally, there is a fee upwards of $100 to park in the garage that is not secure due to the entry arms being frequently damaged and anyone can enter at any time. One of the most concerning changes has been the amount of people congregating in the parking lots, many of whom are smoking cigarettes and marijuana. The activity often resembles loitering, and it has reached the point where I no longer feel comfortable taking evening walks with my child around the property because I do not feel as safe as I once did. How can the cameras not catch this? I have also noticed that the communication regarding community expectations has declined. For example, reminders about pet waste cleanup, which were once sent regularly, have become infrequent. While this may seem like a small issue, it reflects a broader lack of attention to maintaining the community. It was never my intention to move again so soon after relocating for work. However, like several other residents, I simply cannot justify renewing my lease under the current conditions.

  The apartment complex is well maintained and the facilities and amenities are gorgeous. The fee for the parking garage is a bit outrageous and it’s mandatory, otherwise worth the price.
