I had rented through Northpoint for the last year and a half. It was frustrating and a bad experience from start to finish! But when the new property managers sent an email I sent them my concerns and they were very prompt in getting everything straight! From the portal update to asking me to send communication from the last property manager which had very bad communication with me! Im soo happy to have had everything resolved and a big headache gone.

We hired Northpoint to manage our rental in Kansas City, KS. They failed to inspect the property as required. We discovered damage in May 2025, resulting in a documented loss of $31,972. We demanded mediation under the contract in August 2025. They ignored us and still refuse to resolve it. Do not use them if you own a small rental and need a manager who actually shows up and cares.

Pretty terrible experience lived in a duplex they rented and had horrible harassment from the other tenants and northpoint would do nothing. They also add a cleaning clause into their lease that is illegal under Missouri revised statute 535.300.

I applied for a home and was approved. The lady we were working with (Laiba) sent the lease over and I had several questions about the lease. Before we applied someone contacted me and I was able to ask her(Amy) if there was an HOA. She assured me that there was not. Then to find out in the lease that there is one. No big deal I just asked for the rules and regulations before we signed. She (Laiba) sent me to the owners portal so I could not read anything. Then she tells us there may be fees associated with the HOA but she would need to check with the owners and update our lease. When I explained that I had questions about the lease she asked me to give her a call anytime. So I did, she couldn’t answer half my questions and was pretty rude in general that I was asking questions. She said she would need to reach out to the property manager. I asked that she just have the property manager give me a call so I could ask her a few more questions. She then responded with she won’t call you but I can give you her number and you can call her. I said why would I call her if you just told me she won’t answer me? Can you just send my information over to her and have her give me a call. She refused! At this point I am over the entire process and told her to just pull out application. After reading all the reviews looks like we saved ourselves in the long run. I think it’s funny she tried to block me on Yelp so I couldn’t leave a review!

I lived at a property managed by Northpoint, my move in experience was frustrating. As this was a new construction, move in ready, the floors were extremely dirty, the flooring in the kitchen was ruined, the finishing on the home were sloppy. My refrigerator did not work for months and even though the landlord did pay me for the food I had to throw away it was beyond frustrating. The kitchen sink went unfixed for the entire time I lived there up until the last month prior to my departure in which I lived at the property for almost 4 years, the microwave was placed way to close to the stove so it continued to melt the door in which the team had to replace and shortly thereafter no more than 4 months later it happened again, I submitted a maintenance request for both the sink and the microwave and both were cancelled. The first year they charged $100 fee which was understandable but after the first year Northpoint wanted to charge a $200 fee to renew your lease which is absurd and when I asked why they told me “for the betterment of the tenants”, which I have no clue what that meant for nothing special was included to justify the increase. Then they changed their portal to pay for rent which did not allow you to use credit card and if you did you would have to pay an extra 20%. I chose to use ACH and they still charged a 2.95 surcharge just to pay your rent. The neighbors had dogs and they would use the bathroom on my private patio and I could not even enjoy sitting out on my patio due to all the flies flying around due to the smell of dog poo. I changed my air vents every 2 months and the place just could not rid of dust. The air conditioner did not work properly for the entire time there, every simmer someone had to come out to fix, the temp in summer had to be placed at 67 just to feel cool, the upstairs air was for the master and vice versa. The pool was never cleaned and my tree in front of my home died and no one did anything about it. It’s still dead and HOA has not done anything to replace it. I really could not understand the $200 charge to renew the lease, my opinion is even though I loved the area, the home was very spacious and nice despite the problems as the builders did a rush job on my unit, but that $200 alone was a big factor of me leaving. If you are an existing tenant you shouldn’t have to pay anything to renew a lease on top of the increase in rent yearly.
