  If you’re looking for a company to provide you with a manufactured home in exchange for your money, Clayton Homes in Lebanon will do that. If you’re looking for customer service, communication, and follow-through on promises, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. I purchased my manufactured home in early 2025. Once I began using the home, I discovered that the plumbing for the washer had not been properly connected inside the wall. When I ran my washing machine, the water dumped into the kitchen, causing damage to the cabinetry. I was told twice that orders had been placed to replace the damaged cabinets. To this day, that has never been followed through. I have also experienced multiple electrical issues, and on three separate occasions, doors and their casings have completely fallen out of the walls. They used screw to attach doors that are long enough to hit the sheet rock but not a stud. There was also an issue with the flooring that was ordered for the home. I was told multiple times that I would receive a gift card or credit to compensate for the flooring issue. I have called several times following up on this. Every time, I’m told someone will call me back. No one does. Another thing I would strongly recommend to anyone purchasing from them: inspect absolutely everything during your initial walk-through and document every issue. I was told that once the walk-through was completed and they walked out the door, anything that had not been noted would not be covered. Fortunately, I happened to pull up the blinds during my inspection and discovered that one of the windows was busted. They did not catch it during their inspection. Had I not noticed it myself, I would have been left wondering what would have happened with that issue after the walk-through. More recently, I contacted them because I believe the home has settled and needs to be re-leveled. I’m experiencing trim popping, doors that no longer want to close properly, and other issues consistent with the home shifting. I was told I was out of warranty. I explained that I wasn’t calling to demand warranty work—I was simply asking for guidance on who could help me address the leveling issue. Again, I was told someone would call me back. Again, nobody called. The most frustrating part of this entire experience isn’t that problems have occurred. Manufactured homes can have issues just like any other home. It’s the repeated promises to call, the repeated assurances that things have been ordered or taken care of, and then absolutely no follow-through. Based on my personal experience, I would highly recommend shopping elsewhere if customer service and follow-through are important to you. If you’re simply looking for someone to deliver a manufactured home in exchange for your money, they can certainly do that. But once you need anything afterward, my experience has been extremely disappointing.
