  *PENDING UPDATE AT THE BOTTOM* We bought a house from Clayton Homes in Lebanon Missouri in the spring, and one of the biggest problems were the communication. The sellers never communicated with us through the whole process, we talked to two sellers the day we walked through the house but they just wanted to sell the house and then their communication with us was practically cut off. They would never answer our phone calls or text messages, even when we finalized our house they never would tell us when the construction teams were coming out. So the construction teams would show up to the property and call us because we needed to be there and they never gave us a heads up. The communication from Clayton Homes to the contractor teams were always wrong as well. We bought the house in March of this year and it is now September and we still haven't received our screen door for our sliding door, the utility key to our crawl space, the piping was broken in the laundry room so it flooded and they never came in to replace the areas that were wet, the master tub has been leaking (due to a crack in the tub) since we got it so instead of taking out the tub and replacing it (since everything was suppose to be brand new) and then checking for mold and water damage underneath since we could physically see the water coming out on the floor they are only patching the crack in the tub, we had massive water flooding under our house and they still haven't came out to fix the drainage(now since it's the driest part of the year they want to say it's fine but when spring comes of next year it'll be flooded again).These were just examples of the huge issues, I didn't even include the other issues we had. Like I said, they would rather patch a crack than replacing the water damage that their tub created. While we were in the buyers process, the sellers also promised us house furniture that was in the home already and of course they lied and didn't include it. This whole process was unprofessional and honestly would not recommend getting a home from Clayton homes. 9/08/26 Update after review was posted: After a conversation with everyone involved, we felt much better and all the issues are being taken care of. Our review was never to hurt anyone but mainly to be seen. They made us feel much better and we appreciate the effort they took to make things right. After this much needed phone call, we decided to change our rating from a 1/5 stars to a 3/5. *After everything is taken care of then we will change our rating from a 3 to a 5*

  If you’re looking for a company to provide you with a manufactured home in exchange for your money, Clayton Homes in Lebanon will do that. If you’re looking for customer service, communication, and follow-through on promises, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. I purchased my manufactured home in early 2025. Once I began using the home, I discovered that the plumbing for the washer had not been properly connected inside the wall. When I ran my washing machine, the water dumped into the kitchen, causing damage to the cabinetry. I was told twice that orders had been placed to replace the damaged cabinets. To this day, that has never been followed through. I have also experienced multiple electrical issues, and on three separate occasions, doors and their casings have completely fallen out of the walls. They used screw to attach doors that are long enough to hit the sheet rock but not a stud. There was also an issue with the flooring that was ordered for the home. I was told multiple times that I would receive a gift card or credit to compensate for the flooring issue. I have called several times following up on this. Every time, I’m told someone will call me back. No one does. Another thing I would strongly recommend to anyone purchasing from them: inspect absolutely everything during your initial walk-through and document every issue. I was told that once the walk-through was completed and they walked out the door, anything that had not been noted would not be covered. Fortunately, I happened to pull up the blinds during my inspection and discovered that one of the windows was busted. They did not catch it during their inspection. Had I not noticed it myself, I would have been left wondering what would have happened with that issue after the walk-through. More recently, I contacted them because I believe the home has settled and needs to be re-leveled. I’m experiencing trim popping, doors that no longer want to close properly, and other issues consistent with the home shifting. I was told I was out of warranty. I explained that I wasn’t calling to demand warranty work—I was simply asking for guidance on who could help me address the leveling issue. Again, I was told someone would call me back. Again, nobody called. The most frustrating part of this entire experience isn’t that problems have occurred. Manufactured homes can have issues just like any other home. It’s the repeated promises to call, the repeated assurances that things have been ordered or taken care of, and then absolutely no follow-through. Based on my personal experience, I would highly recommend shopping elsewhere if customer service and follow-through are important to you. If you’re simply looking for someone to deliver a manufactured home in exchange for your money, they can certainly do that. But once you need anything afterward, my experience has been extremely disappointing.
