My son lived here, summer 2026. His experience and mine as well with management was one word, awful. Overcharged my son for his first months rent, when I called the manager he stated that it would correct itself the following month, it did not. When my son went in to speak with them they stated they are not going to honor the price in the lease and he has to pay the full months amount. The lease is the lease for a reason and you cannot pick and choose what to follow in it. The fees are awful. We prepaid his entire lease and they still charge a $1000.00 self qualification fee, some people in the office call it a deposit and in the lease it is a fee and you do not get that money back. $1000.00 for 2.5 months, like come on, it's the same for a full year lease. Communication is awful, I have emailed many times and no response. Because of all these factors I will be filling a complaint with the Missouri Attorney General. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

This is by far the best place to live as a student at Mizzou! The entire staff is extremely nice and Tony runs an excellent system!
I can’t say enough good things about The Domain in Columbia, but more importantly, about Tony.
Like a lot of people, I went through a really difficult financial stretch, and I honestly wasn’t sure how I was going to make everything work. Instead of treating me like just another lease, Tony treated me like a person. He took the time to listen, worked with me when I had almost no money, and showed a level of compassion and understanding that is incredibly rare these days.
It’s easy to be a good property manager when everything is going smoothly. The true measure of someone’s character is how they treat people when they’re struggling, and Tony exceeded every expectation. His willingness to work with me during one of the hardest periods of my life gave me the opportunity to get back on my feet instead of feeling like I was drowning.
The Domain is fortunate to have someone like him representing their community. If you’re looking for a place where you’re treated with respect, understanding, and genuine care—not just as another tenant—I wholeheartedly recommend living here.
Tony, thank you for your kindness and for believing in people when they need it most. I’ll never forget it.

I lived at The Domain in a two bedroom apartment. The maintenance crew were quick to make any fixes when necessary in the unit, which only happened twice. The pool is a great amenity, along with the gym and golf simulator. The only issues I ran into was that the fire pit did not work despite maintenance trying to fix it, and the bus shuttle which is not The Domain's fault would have issues sometimes. I ended up driving to campus one morning because the shuttle wasn't running and I had a test.
My son lived here while at Mizzou. The amenities aren't bad, but this place, like others in Columbia, take advantage of parent who have no other option for safe housing and overcharge in a town where living expenses should be cheap. Columbia is not a great town but they add on fees, charge NYC pricing, and only provide mediocre services. If you want to get ripped off, live here.
