  As we get ready to move into Preserve at Shady Oak, I truly wanted to take a moment to express how thankful we are for Shelly. From the very beginning, she welcomed us with such kindness, warmth, and a joyful spirit that immediately made us feel comfortable and at ease. Shelly has such a sweet heart and a beautiful way of treating people. Every conversation with her felt genuine and caring. She never made us feel like just another person moving in — she made us feel seen, valued, and welcomed. Her patience, positive attitude, and willingness to help with every question made this process so much easier for us. Moving can sometimes feel stressful, but her joy and uplifting energy turned it into something exciting and special. You can tell she truly cares about people and wants everyone to feel happy and comfortable in their new home. Her kindness goes beyond customer service — it comes from who she is as a person. People like Shelly are rare to come across. Her warm personality, beautiful energy, and caring heart made such a strong first impression on us and reminded us that small acts of kindness really do mean so much. Thank you, Shelly, for all your help, your patience, and for making us feel welcomed before we even moved in. We’re so grateful and excited to call this place home 🤍

  I am disabled and for the past 3 months my medical supplies were stolen 2 out of 3 times meaning I only received my supplies once. 😡Management seems to not care. They could buy $50 cameras or print out red papers saying if caught stealing packages you will be evicted.

  As a resident at Preserve at Shady Oak, I just wanted to leave a respectful review and give credit where it’s due. Kathy Casto and Shelly Taylor have honestly been doing their best to keep up with everyone and help residents when problems come up. Every time I’ve needed assistance, they’ve treated me kindly and professionally. Managing an apartment community is not easy, especially when there are constant issues happening every day. Some of the complaints people blame on management are actually caused by residents and children making messes in the hallways and garbage areas after the cleaners already cleaned them. Yes, cleaning is part of the job — but common sense and teamwork from residents also matter. If trash goes where it belongs, the property stays cleaner for everyone. I say this respectfully and with a little humor: the managers can’t follow behind everybody with a magic broom 24/7 😂. They are human beings trying to do their jobs. Instead of assuming the worst or attacking them online, I encourage residents to speak with Kathy or Shelly directly if there’s an issue. Communication goes a lot further than negativity. From what I’ve personally seen, these ladies are trying hard to improve things and deserve a little more grace and respect.

  I can’t say enough about how much Preserve at Shady Oak has meant to me during a really difficult time in my life. When I unexpectedly lost my job, I felt overwhelmed and uncertain about everything ahead. What stood out most during that time was the incredible kindness and support I received from the team here. I especially want to recognize the property manager, Kathy Casto. She is truly one of a kind. Kathy leads with both fairness and compassion she’s thoughtful, balanced, and deeply empathetic in the way she approaches people and situations. It’s clear how much she genuinely cares about both the residents and the community as a whole. She took the time to listen, to understand what I was going through, and to help in ways that made a real difference. The leasing agent and the staff here as a whole are also amazing. Everyone I’ve interacted with has been kind, responsive, and genuinely invested in creating a positive and supportive environment. The level of care I experienced here went far beyond what I ever expected from an apartment community. It reminded me that there are still people who lead with kindness and integrity, and that meant everything to me during such a challenging time. I’m incredibly grateful to live at Preserve at Shady Oak and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for not just a place to live, but a community where people truly care.

  UPDATE: the response to these reviews are automated or they have someone not even involved with the properties responding. I went to the office as the response said and all of management was confused as to why I was there. Kathy gave me the main phone number to call for dominium property and I said so what exactly am I bringing up she said “whatever with the blah blah blah stuff you’re talking about.” This place is a joke! They do not care about their residents at all. Do NOT move here My experience living here has been extremely disappointing and stressful. I originally moved here expecting to be placed on a waiting list for a two-bedroom unit, but after more than two years of asking for a transfer, management has continued to give inconsistent answers and make up rules as they go. I have repeatedly asked to see a written transfer policy, but management has refused to provide one. Instead, they seem to create different rules depending on the situation, which has made the process feel unfair and dishonest. There have also been false and misleading notes placed in my tenant file (“memos”). For example, management claimed that I had been filed on for eviction three times, which is completely untrue. After speaking with an attorney, I was informed that this information is false. It is very concerning that inaccurate statements are being placed in a tenant’s file. Now management is trying to cancel my lease the same month I am due to have my baby, claiming over-occupancy, despite the fact that I have been requesting a two-bedroom unit for years in preparation for my growing family. Overall, this has been a frustrating experience marked by poor communication, lack of transparency, false information, and unfair treatment. I would encourage anyone considering living here to ask detailed questions, request everything in writing, and be cautious before signing a lease. Kathy C, Shelly T, Donna, John & Ashley have both been the ones stating the lies and treating me and my kids poorly. Also their cancers don’t work so if your property is damaged or stolen, they won’t do anything about it.
