Lived here for two and a half years and it was mostly great! Honestly the apartments are what they are. Very old buildings, not pristine, no a/c or amenities but that’s why the rent is so affordable. The leasing agents have always been incredibly kind to me. Maintenance responds quickly. My rent was never raised while we lived here. I would recommend budgeting for a parking space if you can get one since street parking is tight. Would recommend for someone wanting a central mpls location on a budget.

I’m a previous renter. And I will say the apartments are very beautiful on the inside. Management is very nice. The reason for the three stars is due to the maintenance man. Or so I think it was him. I kept having an older gentleman find his way into my apartment due to a “call in for maintenance” (I never called for maintenance) it was me and my sister living in the apartment with my fiancé who was always at work so he was hardly ever home. I was getting out of my shower one of the days he came in. I asked him to get out and he kept trying to come in stating he got a call. It took me AND my sister to close the door on him. Mind you a notice has to be given stating that they will be in the apartment or stopping by before hand. The only reason they should be in the apartment with out telling you is because of an emergency. I had no emergencies. The second time I was asleep in the furthest room of the apartment with my fiancé when I woke up due to feeling like someone was watching me. I woke up to a hand turning my light off and closing my door. Mind you my sister was asleep in the room before mine ALONE. The restroom was also before both bedrooms. I asked why he was in there because I caught him trying to sneak out of my apartment. I sleep naked, as it’s my right to do so. And felt like my privacy was invaded… another time was when I found purple nail polish on things me and my sister owned. Me and my sister don’t paint our nails purple. It has always been Red or White or Gold or Pearl. No my fiancé wasn’t cheating. I’m at the apartment majority of the time and when my fiancé would get home we would go out for dinner. My fiancé has never been alone in the apartment just due to him being at work most of the time and wanting to spend time together. I had made reports on the situation but they were just listened to because it kept happening. We would pass inspection but I would notice when we would all leave our stuff was moved around from its original space. I have OCD so things are placed very particular. The place had to be very clean for me. Other wise it will bother me. My complaint is mainly around the maintenance man. Other than that it’s a nicer place to live in that city. I ended up just packing up and leaving due to dealing with that and just the stress of that city. Oh ya, the place doesn’t have air conditioning. It’s a very old building. So come summer time be ready to buy an air conditioner for the rooms you want to cool.

I recently moved into Stevens Community Apartments. I’ve never lived on my own before, but having someone like Cory to help me with my stupid questions has made me feel so welcomed. He works so incredibly hard and always finds another thing to fix or help me with! Thank you so much Cory! Amazing service.

Horribly managed apartments. Will make you pay rent after your lease ends until they find a new renter. Make it inordinately difficult to find out how to end your lease. No online portal. Stuck in the stone age. You have to write and deliver a physical letter in order for them to acknowledge that your lease has ended. Predatory practices. Do not rent here.
