We lived at Cedars of Edina for six years in a one bedroom apartment. Overall, it was a great experience and we would recommend living there to anyone. When we first toured, we actually almost skipped touring it because their units didn't have central air or in unit laundry. We ended up touring, and everything else made up for those two things. Pros: - Prime location. Close proximity to literally everything. Centennial lakes is wonderful. - Affordable. These seem to be pretty reasonably priced apartments for the area. The longer you stay, the concession becomes very helpful. - Front office staff. Kind and helpful front office staff. They will even remember residents names. - Maintenance staff. Some of the most friendly and efficient maintenance staff I've met. Issues were addressed within 24 hours sometimes within hours of the maintenance request. Please give them a shout out! - Peaceful area. The landscape is well maintained and calming. It makes it feel like you forget you're in Edina sometimes. - Amenities. The pools, gyms, etc. are all well maintained and good quality. I used the gym 3-5 times per week. - Safety. The area and apartment complexes feel safe and secure. It seems there are a lot of families that live here. - Events. They started putting on more events for younger residents as of recent. We really wish that they had more of these the past few years because it would have helped to meet people. But hopefully they keep them going because they have been fun. They have family oriented events as well. - Package room. Never had a package stolen during our time there Cons: - No central air, but has ac units in all apartments - No in unit washer or dryer, but each floor has their own washer and dryers - Party room rental cost is high - Lots of families means lots of kids running around the halls etc. It can get noisy.

I have been living here for a few years now. I originally chose this place because I was looking for a quiet and convenient neighborhood. It was nice for the first few years, but the area has become increasingly busy. There is construction right outside the apartment complex on France Ave during summer 2026, which creates massive “dust storms” and a lot of noise. The inside of the apartment is quite outdated, and the shower drain gets clogged fairly often, although clog-clearing gel can usually take care of it. You can also smell the garbage inside the building on the first floor. The soundproofing is probably my biggest complaint. You can hear every single footstep from the people living upstairs, and I can hear the ceiling creaking whenever they walk around. If they start walking around while I’m sleeping, it wakes me up/or keeps me awake at night. You can also hear when the upstairs neighbors or other neighbors start showering because the sound of running water is very noticeable. My neighbors also blast bass-heavy music at 7 a.m. every morning (after communicating with the neighbor directly, he apologized and told me that he would not blast music very loud. He is a very nice guy! ) point is, the walls and ceilings are so thin that I can even hear neighbors talking as well! It seems like they are trying to renovate and improve the property, which is nice, but the renovations also come with a lot of additional noise. Overall, if you need or value a quiet living space, THIS IS NOT where you want to live. On the positive side, the property does offer underground parking for an additional cost, which is very convenient during Minnesota winters.

We were at our last place 14 years and when new corporate management took over it went down hill. Waited 3 months before writing this review to ensure I could speak accurately and after the honeymoon perio, and we're so glad we made the moved. The Cedars has been family owned since it was built in 1975! The son and Dad planted every tree here and the rocks are millions of years old trucked down from northern MN and the same rock is on display at the Smithsonian. The son and daughter can be seen trimming trees and helping the grounds crew side by side. 44 acres is a lot to keep up and they do a good job of it. So much wildlife and amenities to enjoy. The staff and management are nothing short of amazing, truthful, helpful, genuine and happy. Some staff and residents have been here for 20 years or more, and that says something. They are also in process of updating all the interior areas and exterior siding. Oh, plenty of parking too all in the core of Edina and 9 mile trail system. ❤️
