I apologize in advance for the length of this review, but I have so many wonderful things to say about my time at Cedars of Edina!
I moved to Minnesota for a one-year job opportunity and will soon be moving back to Michigan. If it were possible, I would pack up this entire apartment community—and honestly, the city of Edina itself, and take it with me. I know I'll never find another place quite like this.
Before moving here, I had only been to Minnesota once for a short work trip, so I really had no idea what to expect. I wasn't able to tour the property beforehand. I simply hoped for the best, packed up my life, drove 10 hours, and moved in. The moment I pulled into the community, I knew I had made the right choice.
In the entire year I've lived here, I genuinely can't think of a single negative thing to say. I honestly don't understand how Cedars of Edina doesn't have a perfect 5-star Google rating, but I suppose you can't please everyone.
The staff here is absolutely incredible. Every single person I've interacted with has been friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Many of them live within the community, which makes it feel even more personal because you actually get to know them. Even my dog knows who they are! He gets excited whenever he realizes we're heading to the office because he knows he'll get plenty of pets, and usually a treat or two. He was even chosen as Pet of the Month, and the staff displayed his picture around the building and gave him a gift box filled with toys and treats. It may seem like a small gesture, but it perfectly reflects how much they care about their residents.
The property itself is exceptionally well maintained. The building is cleaned every single day—even on weekends. During my time here, they've repaved the entire community and are currently renovating the hallways, which are already looking fantastic. The landscaping is absolutely beautiful, and the grounds crew works tirelessly year-round, even during the winter months.
The amenities are some of the best I've ever seen in an apartment community: two pools, two hot tubs, a sauna, a fitness center, an excellent tennis court, a playground, multiple fire tables with seating areas, and walking trails throughout the property. Unlike many places, the pools stay open later, making it easy to actually enjoy them after work.
Maintenance has also been outstanding. In the year I've lived here, I only submitted one maintenance request, and it was resolved the very next day. On two separate occasions, I needed help with a dead car battery, and the team came out quickly to help me get back on the road.
One of my favorite features is the bike and walking trail that begins right outside the property and stretches for about nine miles. I've biked the entire trail, and it's absolutely beautiful. Cedars of Edina somehow manages to be close to everything you could possibly need while still making you feel like you're living in the middle of the woods.
What has truly made this place special, though, has been the people. My neighbors have been amazing. One neighbor has brought me homemade Mexican food on several occasions. We've had Sunday cookouts together, and when I traveled to Las Vegas recently, another neighbor offered to watch my dog and wouldn't even accept payment. The sense of community here is something that's becoming increasingly rare, and it's something I will miss tremendously.
Leaving Cedars of Edina is honestly one of the hardest parts about moving back to Michigan. If life ever brings me back to Minnesota, there is no question where I'll live. I would move back here in a heartbeat.
Thank you to everyone at Cedars of Edina for making what could have been a stressful move to a new state feel like home.
