I live in wyndham hills which is the sister property next door which is all owned by the same company. I reported this severe mold growing in my unit, originally started in the utility room but has since moved within the unit itself. Attached are pictures. This mold is severe enough to cause health issues. Upon speaking with Mary, the district manager, and paige the regional manager, I was told sorry about your frustration but continue to live in a unit thats uninhabitable and have patience. They will absolutely do nothing to help make this situation right. I have never dealt with a property management team as bad as this. Due to the health and safety issues this unit is presenting, and the fact that whenever it gets repaired I have to live in an active construction zone within my unit, i am trying to get them to do the right thing and end my lease so they can fix the unit properly without me and my cats being affected further. Steer clear from amp residential, aspen lakes, and wyndham hills. Gotta love being told to stay in your moldy ass apartment. The two property managers have completely stopped responding to any emails as well

I am visiting my mother and she got just 20 minutes notice by email that the water would be shut off for one hour and now it's been over 3 hours. I tried calling the front office and was hung up on twice without even talking to anyone. Update: I have been trying to call all day and they REFUSE to answer the phone. I don't understand how this is a legitimate business/company and how they think it's acceptable to completely and randomly shut off a vital service and then blatantly ignore the phones for hours. Next day update: Since 7:30AM they've been working on the roof and it sounds like a wrecking ball has been hitting the building every 10 seconds... It's shaking the whole apartment and I think they started a little too early for a project this disruptive. This complex has made my visit to Grand Rapids completely MISERABLE!

Maintenance staff is great. Fast and thorough and life savers for those after hour emergency repairs and lockouts! Thanks Eldin!

Good apartment if no issues, but once issues/mishaps happen solutions are at a minimal. For recent example - from the moment first payment was due till now. I have used the same card info/bank info- 30 straight payments made via "automatic payments," which happens before the first of each month and have had no issues what so ever... Then I change banks and a NSF happens and instead of an email or call they wait until the 13th to notify and then charge $150 for the inconvenience. I would understand if prior issues or a re-occurring theme, but for 30 perfectly okay payments to 1 mishap with a bank change and $150 with no notice or even attempt at an resolution. Shows the loyalty they have to good consumers vs. the $ amount they are trying to gain.

We have just passed the 4 month mark at Aspen Lakes and felt we have had a good overview to write a fair review. I will preference that we are in one of the older buildings in a 1 bed 1 bath with in unit laundry which comes out to around $1475 after water and trash, so are review may not be consistent to those who live in the newer units. The good: Leasing agent was friendly Discounted initial fee for college students Painting walls is allowed The location is great The pet wash and workout space is nice The view of the pond behind our building is great Lots of turtles, geese, ducks and pigeons The walking trail to Huff park is super nice Grill and fireplace are is pretty neat There is a pool available in Wyndham Hills in-unit laundry Comcast high speed internet is available Relatively quiet unit Water pressure is good Heat and AC are quick to get you to the right temp Amazon hub on property In unit mail The bad: Apartment itself is pretty worn down Premium package includes low dollar appliances No light in the bedroom even though there's a light switch Very low communication between staff it appears Slow or no reply for maintenance or general inquiries Parking fills up on weekends Multiple cars in non working condition take up spots Limited carport and garages available Petty consistent "smell" in hallways Leasing agent seemed overwhelmed and unprepared Garbage is sometimes overfull Lots of geese and pigeon poop Our personal woes during our time: -When we were fully transitioned into the apartment March 14th we put a maintenance request in for non-working entry door deadbolt. No contact was ever made I ended up fixing it myself. -After out first use of the washer and dryer on March 14th we put a maintenance request in for the dryer taking two full cycles to dry and sounding like a bag of marbles was bouncing inside the machine. No contact was ever made by maintenance, we have actually called 4 times and emailed 3 times with no follow up or call back. In-unit laundry was a deciding factor and to not have a well working washer and dryer is frustrating to say the least. -Leasing agent showed us a version of the unit and could not tell us if the new unit had a upgraded washer and dryer and kitchen appliance for the premium upcharge or just a different kitchen countertop. Only difference is color of appliances and the color of the countertop laminate. Also described the unit as a corner unit with a fireplace which it is not. We were actually happy to find it didn't have a fireplace though. -Leasing agent originally said there were plenty of carports during initial meet then closer to signing explained that there were no carports or garages near our unit. -Currently one or two vehicles without license plates in the parking lot that haven't moved since we moved in. In all, Aspen Lakes is an average grade apartment choice with a ton of potential if they could figure out a few things. If the staffs communication was improved this would easily be a four star.
