  Update: 06/29/26 Ashley Peaster, I greatly appreciate the response you provided to my review, proving just how difficult you are to work with. I did follow the proper steps and communications sent as you outlined below in your response. You stopped responding and failed to answer direct questions. The only useless information you did provide was a check number and a statement of account, not a copy of the actual check. The critical part you failed at, is the actual mailing of the check, though you knew that, thus why wouldn't answer what date it was mailed. Then to continue your lies even to this date. Today, I received the check you issued 05/20/26 and supposedly mailed but instead you put blame on USPS failure to deliver, then you wouldn't issue another check (attached is a picture of the post mark with the date of 06/26/26). I made sure to update my complaint with the Michigan Attorney General's office, sending them your response of lies and my concern for the management company operating in this manner. Rock Companies, I hope Ashley Peaster's behavior, as the manager and representation of your company, is swiftly and properly addressed, including her dismissal from the company. If you support her actions, you too are a disgrace. Future tenants really ask yourselves, what issues WILL you have once living there? This refund was a "simple" application refund. I placed a fully refundable deposit with application, requested a refund of deposit a few days later after applying. Contract states, may take up to 30 days for refund. After numerous emails with Ashley, 40 days since request, supposedly mailed a check that has never arrived, hasn't re-issued a check as requested several times and stopped responding to emails. I now have filed a complaint with Michigan Attorney General Office, and will continue down every avenue, not only until my funds are received, but that these actions stop, Ashley Peaster and Rock Companies are investigated and repremanded to the fullest extent of law.

  My son has lives here. He does not have vaulted ceilings or walk-in closets. Only select units have those, and they cost a lot more. While they have move in specials, they raise the rent substantially every year. The dryer has never worked properly because the main vent that leads out of the apartment has never been cleaned! (not the one behind the dryer, the chase that leads out of the building) this is a fire hazard as well as a financial issue sine you need to run the dryer 5 times to get clothes dry-ish! Maintenance tells them to not push the dryer too far back. This is their idea of correcting the problem. Which doesn’t help at all. Now the dryer doesn’t work and they can’t close the laundry closet door. There is a dog park, but no park for people. For the price, the age, lack of updates, I’d look around.

  0/10 – I would not recommend living here.My experience was extremely disappointing, especially with management First , they want you to bring in the full balance a whole week before moving in and they never answer after! . I received a trash violation notice on my door on a Saturday (a week I didn’t even take out trash because I was barely home) but the issue did not involve me, and when I reached out multiple times (calls and messages), no one followed up or provided any proof, times or pictures though there are ring cameras outside that can see if any trash was thrown out by me. My concerns were ignored. Communication from the leasing office was consistently poor. I also was not given proper notice regarding my lease non-renewal. My lease states a 30-day notice is required, but I was only notified about 3 weeks prior, which is a breach of contract and I documented it. Additionally, first floor units are partially below ground level, which led to ongoing issues with bugs coming in through the windows something future renters should be aware of. I strongly recommend documenting everything if you choose to live here. They need more people working because Ashley in the leasing office -1,000/10. One time I paid rent and days went by and it wasn’t updated and I called Ashley and said I personally gave you a check a few days ago and then she changed it honestly I think she was going to try to steal it. They proceeded to put notes on my door even after I paid and called she lied and never updated it and let court notices continue. She lied and said it was the court that came and put that not them but that was a lie. I told her she said don’t worry about it you’re all set but again she never updated it so not trust her! Everything she say is a scam or lie. They will try to scam you so document everything I have everything in a file . My apartment was left so clean and perfect I had it inspected and they didn’t send out my security deposit do not move here!!!!!!!!!!!!

  DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!! this is the WORST apartment complex in clarkston. they over charge on rent, have low office staff, and DONT REPORT CRIMINAL ACTIVITY IN THE COMPLEX! my car was broken into MULTIPLE times and eventually stolen. not one message was sent out to the rest of the complex to be aware of their surroundings. they also demand a 30/60 day notice to move out… but still charge you for those 30/60 days. this place is a scam!!!!!! almost $6k just for me to move out on my own terms. 0/10 would NOT recommend living here. i absolutely HATE living here and cannot wait to get the hell out of this place!!!!! AWFUL TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT
