  I lived at Uptown Ann Arbor for 9 months, and here is my honest review: Tyler made our move-in experience very easy. When we first toured the property, he showed us around thoroughly, and on move-in day he came to our unit and explained every detail about the apartment and the complex. Overall, the community is very new and technology-oriented—we actually never needed to use our physical keys. The few times we needed maintenance, the team always came within the same day and fixed the issue promptly. During the winter, the snowplows started working before 6 a.m., and we never had any snow-related problems. Our unit was also very well insulated: it stayed warm in the winter and cool in the summer/fall, even when the thermostat was turned off for several hours. Since my wife and I came from another country, we did not have previous rental history in the U.S., so we had to pay a full security deposit, which is standard procedure. We were pleasantly surprised to receive the full amount back at our new address. We expected at least some move-out charges for basic maintenance between renters, as many apartment complexes surely might find a way to charge for those things. Last but not least, the location is EXCELLENT. It is less than five minutes from Meijer and Target by foot, and there are two bus stops very close by. It was the perfect place for our move to Ann Arbor because we were close to everything we needed. The price is on the higher end, but in our experience, it was justified by the amenities, location, responsive maintenance, and helpful management team. I really recommend this apartment complex if you are moving to Ann Arbor!

  Original post (06/04/2026): Warning to anyone considering this place: watch out for the bait-and-switch rental strategy. The first year feels fine — pricing is fair, nothing seems off. But come renewal time, the terms shift dramatically. We were given a choice between an oddly short lease or a 15% price hike on a 12-month term. Raised our concerns, were told someone would be in touch — that call never came. Update (06/10/2026): Tamara at the leasing office reached out to us yesterday, explained the lease renewal process, and we ended up with terms that we felt were acceptable. Regarding why we initially felt ignored, it turned out that the “leasing specialist” we had been communicating with over email—the person who said someone would reach out to learn more about our concerns and then did not follow up for several days—was actually an AI. As a result, the communication felt very disjointed and broken. I think Beztak, the management company, should be very careful about deploying technologies like this in customer-facing communications, or at the very least be transparent when tenants are interacting with an AI system. Without that transparency, it is easy for misunderstandings and frustration to arise. Regarding our experience living at Uptown Ann Arbor, we have been here for a year, and the management team onsite, maintenance, and overall quality of living have all been very good.

  We looked at many apartments. But loved Uptown. Units are updated and very clean. Property also very maintained and well kept. Tamra was very helpful with our move and helping us find the right unit. Tyler also was very helpful when I had questions . Thank you both for the easy move.

  Uptown Ann Arbor Apartments is a great place to live. The staff truly care and are professional, responsive, and kind. Tamara in particular goes above and beyond to make residents feel comfortable and welcome. You can really tell the effort she puts into her work. The location is also a huge bonus

  Uptown Ann Arbor is a hidden gem and I absolutely love living here! The location is easily accessible to the highway, is very close to multiple restaurants, has wonderful amenities including the gym, pool, clubhouse and seating area outside. Everyone is friendly and the maintenance team is fantastic and always on top of everything! Tyler has been exceptional in answering any questions or concerns that I have and was a tremendous help during the move (including the tour) and throughout my stay at Uptown Ann Arbor. Thanking Tyler and the Uptown team for making this place home! I am updating my review, I have been a resident since 2024, since my residency here Tamera has been so incredible during the whole time this year, she helps resolve issues, makes sure maintenance issues are taken care of (shoutout to Jeff who is also incredible and has been so helpful), coordinates community events. Tamera goes above and beyond to make sure everything runs smoothly—whether it’s coordinating maintenance, answering questions, or creating a welcoming environment. Her attention to detail and positive attitude really stand out. It’s rare to come across someone so dedicated and easy to work with. I highly recommend Tamera and Tyler to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable property management professional.
