We lived here without any real problems — maintenance was responsive enough, the unit was fine, and we had no complaints during our tenancy.
So this review is entirely about the move-out process.
We left the place clean and got hit with a $290 deduction for “soot damage / stained counter.” The soot came from using the gas fireplace normally — it marked the wall above it and scorched some of our pictures and paintings, which is why we shut the pilot off after 1 week of usage. That reads to us like a venting or maintenance issue, not tenant damage.
, since we saw no stains at our final cleaning. Getting basic documentation for a deposit deduction shouldn’t be difficult.
If you rent here, photograph everything on your way out and expect to have to ask for proof.
I had a very positive experience working with BriarCove Apartments. Susanna and Darryelle in the leasing office delivered a high level of customer service throughout the leasing and move-in process. They were especially helpful as we worked through some time-sensitive needs on the day of our move-in. Their communication and willingness to problem-solve made what could have been a stressful transition feel much more manageable.
Overall, the Briar Cove property is well-maintained, the staff are friendly, and I genuinely appreciate their help. Thank you, Susanna and Darryelle, for going above and beyond.

I’m surprised by the average high reviews (4+) here. While the common areas—such as the clubhouse, pool, hot tub, and gym—are well-maintained and look great, the interior of the one-bedroom unit I toured was quite disappointing. It felt very outdated and in desperate need of a full renovation and better ventilation. Outside the unit paint was chipping of the staircase, so it was bit messy in front of the unit entrance. Also very dark inside (on a very sunny day), giving impression of a basement - altogether for almost $1800 + all utilities and other costs so looking to pay over $2000 each month. was not giving a good value for the money nor just a comfortable space to live. On a positive note, there was in unit washer and dryer (also quite dated in the unit I toured, and not sure what working condition they are and who covers repairs cost) and the location is convenient; while it may not be prime Ann Arbor, it offers excellent access to highways and a nearby shopping center with all the essentials and gas stations. There's no lift for units above 1st floor, carports available for a fee ($30). Based on what I was presented solid 3+.

Hello everyone!! I have just applied for housing at this apartment complex and have had the most wonderful experience with Karre and Michelle. They have gone above and beyond for my fiancé, and I in their accommodations and kindness. I am so looking forward to living here (fingers crossed we qualify), knowing that there are wonderful people managing. Their quality of service is hard to find these days. Thank you, ladies!! ✨
