  My apartment flooded at the end of May due to a neighboring apartment and we were displaced for a month. The communication while we were displaced was horrid and we never received confirmation that our home was ready for us to return – I had to continuously call and email. At the very end of June was greeted with “OH I thought you all returned already.” We’ve had ample “inconvenience rent credit” promises that were broken, a few apartment swap offers (that were then miraculously unavailable within the next 48 hours each time,) and more recently a new leasing manager with a very condescending, attitude-filled approach to customer service. My introduction to her was via phone with sarcastic comments on the email thread that had accrued in June that was created to hold GW accountable and have a paper trail of all that communicated v. what was fulfilled. An incident that occurred quite a few months ago created a disruption to our life and in a lot of ways, we’ve had to start over – even with having renter’s insurance. Throughout this entire process, Georgia West made it clear that this flood was not a fault of theirs(we’ve been told this verbatim) – not considering that this is also not a fault of ours. We are still living in an apartment where repairs still need to be made from our entry way to our bathroom floor. Your stay here could be positive, but after 5 years, the past few months have gone from our stay being 5 star to a bleak 1. Ms. Diaz – you are greatly missed.

  I have been living in this apartment for more than 6 years. It is an amazing apartment to live in, near the nature park and the heart of downtown Silver Spring, with peaceful, friendly neighbors and building staffs.
