I’m 82 and I think we lived on the 3rd floor in one of the Falkland Chase buildings in the summer of 1956. As I recall they were called the Falkland Apartments back then and I attended Eastern Junior High School (now called Eastern Middle School). I was born at Columbia Hospital in DC which is the same hospital that Duke Ellington, Al Gore and Julie Nixon Eisenhower were born. This apartment was the last place I lived before we moved to St Paul MN in early October 1956. I still live in St Paul and haven’t been to the DC area since the 1980s. Maryland was a wonderful place to be a kid in the 1940s and 1950s. Also Minnesota was a great place to be a kid in the late 1950s and early 1960s. It was my great fortune when we moved to St Paul because my wife was born and raised in this fine city. We met in 1961, married in 1965 and she passed away in 2021. Since my wife’s passing I’ve been living alone in the home we purchased in May 1976. My plans are to continue living alone for as long as I’m able.

Maintenance will take forever and the property managers will be changed by the end of the quarter

I have been living here for two years now. We love the location, and apartment is nice and quiet. After Murn taking over, leasing process is fast and effective, Shavon helps a lot. However, we are not happy with maintenance service, always have delays whether it is urgent or not. Never pick up the maintenance calls. Hope it is getting improved

TLDR: live anywhere but here.
I lived here for 5 years and it was an affordable, well maintained complex that became progressively neglected over the years by a revolving door of management companies. The current management company was criminal during my tenancy. They charged illegally high service fees and illegally back dated rent increases. Neighbors who had mold and broken appliances in their home were ignored by management until the county was involved. Neighbors posted that the company marked maintenance requests as complete without fixing anything. The residents formed a tenant union several years ago to combat the worsening management of the complex. I moved out in good standing several months ago, only to see the company charged $1400 to my bank on Friday. Unsurprising, as multiple other former residents shared that similar “accidental” charges happened to them too. This company is a nightmare and in my experience, they only right their wrongs if the law gets involved. If you don’t already live here, save yourself the trouble.
