I've been visiting residents at this apartment complex for a long time. It's supposed to be a gated community but the gate is always open. I'm told that the office staff does not know the answers to resident questions and the maintenance department takes forever to get things repaired once a request is made. If you expect better than this then I'd recommend you find another place to live.

I’ve lived at Mode at Owings Mills for several years, and unfortunately, maintenance issues have never been handled in a timely manner. This latest experience has been by far the worst.
My air conditioning stopped working last night in the middle of summer. I immediately called the emergency maintenance line, only to be told that having no air conditioning during the beginning of Augusty is not considered a maintenance emergency. I called the leasing office again the following morning, hoping someone could help, but was told that maintenance couldn’t come out.
When I got home from work at 5:45 PM, my apartment was 84°F. I have a dog who was panting from the heat, and I had no alternative place to go. Despite the circumstances, management was unwilling to provide any temporary accommodation, portable fan, or even an estimate of when someone would be able to fix the issue.
Update: today no one has reached out to me still, no idea when maintenance would so lovingly show up so I can stopped being a roasted chicken in my own apartment
It’s incredibly disappointing that a property management company would not consider a complete loss of air conditioning during the middle of summer to be an emergency, especially when it affects the health and safety of both residents and their pets. After years of dealing with slow maintenance responses, this experience has completely destroyed my confidence in the management team.
If you’re considering living here, be aware that when a serious maintenance issue arises, you may be left waiting with little communication and no meaningful assistance. Paying premium rent should come with responsive maintenance and concern for resident safety. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience.
Update 8/13- still not fixed, was told that maybe on Monday it will be fixed.
Update 8/17- No updates had to call4 times for someone to answer, There is no new update or estimate when the A/C will be fixed. this is now starting week 3. It Broke on August 4th
Update 8/21- The A/C is still not fixed
That would make it 2+ weeks sleeping in an apartment that never goes below 82 degrees at night

DO NOT MOVE HERE. The Mode at Owings Mills is a complete nightmare from the moment you move in.
I moved into a dirty, unpunched apartment with broken electrical sockets and an AC that never worked — even in 90‑degree September heat. They also control the AC/heat, shutting it off in October whether you need it or not. Mine never worked at all.
Maintenance is nonexistent. Requests go ignored for months. I had to fix my own garbage disposal because no one ever showed up. Emergency maintenance does not exist — no calls, no visits, nothing.
The office staff is incompetent, negligent, and unreachable. Phones never get answered. Emails never get returned. If you go in person, no one is ever available to help you. You are completely on your own.
They used to accept office rent payments, but due to their own negligence, they lost payments, and now they don’t accept them at all.
Overall Living Experience
You will be on your own in this building. No support, no communication, no accountability. Every issue becomes your problem to solve. This place is unsafe, unprofessional, and completely mismanaged.
Save yourself the stress. Do not rent here. Choose literally anywhere else.

I have been extremely disappointed with the management of this apartment community. My neighbor was recently evicted, and their belongings have been left in the hallway since Tuesday of this week. Today is Friday, and the items are still there. I reported the issue to the leasing office on Thursday, July 16, and I was told the items would be removed. Despite that assurance, nothing has been done.
The hallway now has a strong, unpleasant odor, and the area has become unsanitary. There are belongings piled throughout the common hallway, along with what appears to be dog waste. This creates an unhealthy and potentially unsafe environment for everyone living on this floor. Shared hallways, especially emergency exit routes, should never be left in this condition.
I pay my rent on time every month and expect management to maintain a clean, safe, and healthy living environment. Unfortunately, I feel that the concerns of the residents on this floor have been ignored. This experience has significantly affected my sense of safety and my quality of life, and I do not plan to renew my lease.
I hope management begins taking residents’ concerns seriously and responds promptly to health and safety issues instead of allowing conditions like this to continue for days.

DO NOT even think about moving here! SAVE YOURSELF!!!! Yes it looks nice…that’s its, that’s all!!! no need to repeat what the others reviews say. Give your money to somewhere else that actually care or act like they care at least!!
