  Underwhelming! - The freight elevator is supposed to be used for each move in. However it suddenly doesn't work on your move in day. This happened at least 4 times that I'm aware of. - Canvas refuses to empty the garbage outside the complex in a timely fashion. It is their responsibility and not the city's. - Hallways smell due to the carpet. There is no significant airflow and carpets are not cleaned often enough. - Elevators - BOTH elevators have been down for five days and counting. It affects those with mobility and handicap issues. Not confirmed, but I'm told that vendor won't come out until outstanding invoices are paid. Trash is now piling up in the hallway because the valet collector bin has no elevator access to each floor. - Fire Alarm - they periodically go off without communication regarding the reason. It has also gone off in the middle of the night! Is it an emergency, malfunctioning or testing during a repair? We are left to make the determination ourselves. In the event of a fire someone is likely to get hurt because they won't know whether or not it is an actual emergency. Key fobs and security - Key fobs don't work well at the back door to the ramp and one elevator. After numerous repair attempts, what's the fix? Prop the door open with a door stopper or sit out there in the dark and keep trying only to decide to walk around the building at night in the dark to the front door. Key fobs often don't work in one particular elevator. The fix? Remove the requirement for key fobs in that elevator - security compromised. Garage Security - The gate malfunctions. What's the fix? Leave it up and allow anyone to drive in again security is compromised. There's more, but I'll summarize by communicating that the building maintenance is unacceptable. My review is not a sudden disgruntled moment, but an accumulation of observations and experiences for more than six months. It's contemporary and nice on the surface, but one should think twice before signing a lease.

  Although the property has its concerns, Johnny is definitely not one of them! He is an outstanding concierge who is always welcoming, friendly, and brings the best attitude every day. He takes the time to know tenants by name, making residents feel valued and at home. He is also incredibly helpful and attentive when it comes to addressing property concerns. Johnny consistently goes above and beyond to provide excellent service and make residents feel welcome. He is truly an asset to the property, and his professionalism, kindness, and positive attitude do not go unnoticed!

  Canvas is a beautiful building. Ms Tia is one of the most customer service friendly managers I’ve met in a while.

  The apartments themselves are beautiful. The interiors, cabinets, and finishes are really nice. The “plunge pool,” however, looks more like a splash pad and is honestly pretty unappealing. My biggest issue is the communication. Ivy was very nice during our tour and specifically told us they’re great with communication and that she’s a great texter. She also personally asked me to leave a review—which is ironic considering we’ve reached out multiple times since our tour and she hasn’t responded by text or email. If you’re going to ask prospective residents to leave reviews, the experience you give them afterward matters too. If communication is already this poor before becoming a resident, it makes me question what it would be like once you actually live there and need something. Beautiful apartments, but this experience completely turned us off.
