Extremely Disappointing Experience with Move-Out Charges
I lived at Stonecreek Apartments from June 2022 until June 2025. Unfortunately, my experience with the management at the end of my tenancy has been extremely disappointing.
When I moved in, I was given the option of paying a traditional security deposit or purchasing a **non-refundable damage waiver/voucher**. I chose and paid for the damage waiver specifically offered by the community.
About two months before moving out, I submitted maintenance requests through the resident portal for minor wear and other items that needed attention. I did exactly what a responsible tenant should do and reported these issues while I was still living in the apartment.
I also informed the leasing office that I would not be renewing my lease. Management told me that the reported items would be addressed after I moved out while the apartment was being prepared for the next tenant. The maintenance manager, Angel, also contacted me and specifically confirmed that the apartment would be painted and that I did not need to do anything further.
I relied on those representations and moved out as agreed. I also provided the required notice and, even though I vacated approximately one month before my lease expired, **I paid the full rent for that month**.
Despite all of this, I recently discovered that Stonecreek had reported approximately **$883 in alleged damages as a debt to the credit reporting agencies**. This has negatively affected my credit and is now something I have to formally dispute.
What is especially frustrating is that I had already reported the maintenance issues before moving out, management acknowledged them, and I was told that the apartment would be taken care of after I left. I also paid for the non-refundable damage waiver offered by the property.
I am now disputing this debt with the credit reporting agencies and requesting that Stonecreek provide documentation showing exactly what this $883 represents and why they believe I am personally responsible for it.
My review is based specifically on how this move-out issue was handled and the subsequent reporting of the disputed charge as a debt. After being a tenant for years and making every effort to comply with my lease obligations, I expected much better communication and professionalism from management. Note: I have document proof of everything I said above, the voucher payment, the maintenance request tickets etc…

I do not recommend this place!! The price is a fraud they charger for every single thing i lived there for two years i couldn’t waited to moved out thank god i did this place is horrible for winter time they do not care they don’t clean the snow at all. I had an A/C issue they never fixed it My electricity bill come for $3K in a month. please get away from this place if I could leave 0 stars i would.
I had a very frustrating experience with this apartment complex. I was originally scheduled to move in on Monday, but just two days before, they told me the unit wasn’t ready because the previous tenants left it in bad condition. They then asked me to move my move-in date almost a week later, which I accepted.
I went back to the office the day before my new move-in date (Thursday) to confirm everything would be ready, and the manager assured me 100% that the apartment would be ready. However, on the actual day I was supposed to move in, the manager called and said the apartment was full of cockroaches.
This situation is completely unacceptable. Not only was the communication poor, but the management was extremely unprofessional. The manager showed no urgency or willingness to help—he simply said “these things happen,” which is not an acceptable response when dealing with someone’s home.
Overall, this complex has been disorganized, unreliable, and unprofessional. I would not recommend this place to anyone. They clearly do not respect their customers or their time.

Honest review: The only thing I can really say is the front office and the repairmen are the only things truly good about this complex. Hence the two stars, would be one without them. So I Lived in two different apartments on the property over an almost 5 year period and each place was not really worth the price. To try to summarize, the apartments are out dated, appliances like the water heater in both apartment were over 15 years old, (I’m a maintenance worker in MCPS and verified the serial number for both) mold was found in the property, (tested by my equipment) vents were not cleaned and caked with dust everywhere, bathtub was not leveled, the only bathroom toilet had cracked water tank with cawk repair that was no replaced before move in, had issues with above apartment leaking into ours due to an outdated water heater, (confirmed by upstairs neighbor) car was broken in day before Christmas, property was littered with dog poo, and issues with infestation of bees, ants, roaches inside apartment. (Attached are photos of experience) Side note: went into remodeled neighbors apartment on 3rd floor after getting to know each other and shared same issues with ventilation, water heater, appliances and ants.
