After graduating college, I moved to the Washington, D.C. area to begin my career, and Hunt Club was the very first apartment community I ever called home. This goes back nearly 20 years now, and I still look back on those memories with appreciation.
At the time, I rented a second-floor two-bedroom apartment for around $905 a month — which back then felt expensive, but manageable for a young guy just starting out in life. I was commuting to Bethesda, Maryland at first, before eventually finding better work near the college campus on the east side of D.C. in Hyattsville.
What always stood out to me about Hunt Club was how clean and inviting everything felt. The common areas were always well kept, and the staff during that time were friendly, helpful, and treated people with respect. I never had any issues while living there.
Ironically, one of the best things I gained from living there wasn’t just an apartment — it was lifelong memories and friendships. A guy named Johnny P. helped me with my very first lease agreement, and we became close friends. There was also a local deli nearby owned by Jimmy, where I spent countless evenings hanging out with him and the crew, helping around the shop, eating free dinners, laughing, and just enjoying life during those early years.
Funny how certain places become part of your story. Hunt Club will always hold a special place in mine ✌️✌️
