I was genuinely very excited to move here, and I want to start by acknowledging that several staff members have been kind and helpful throughout many difficult situations. My move happened very quickly, and despite the rushed turnaround, I was optimistic and grateful to be here.
Unfortunately, within just my first two months living in this apartment, I have experienced a constant stream of maintenance and unit-related issues that strongly suggest my apartment was not fully ready for occupancy at move-in. Since arriving, I have needed a new oven installed, a new dryer, a new toilet, multiple repairs and updates, pest control visits, and an electrical issue resulting in a partial power outage. None of these issues were caused by me. While I understand maintenance problems can happen anywhere, the frequency of them within such a short timeframe has been overwhelming.
To be fair, I have consistently tried to approach every interaction with patience, professionalism, and gratitude. I understand maintenance teams and leasing offices are often stretched thin, and I have repeatedly thanked staff members for their responsiveness and help.
However, the experience that finally compelled me to leave this long review involved resident safety and communication within the last 24 hours.
After returning home from work yesterday evening, I discovered a package sitting INSIDE my locked apartment. Since I knew I had locked my unit before leaving and had not been notified that anyone would be entering, I immediately contacted both maintenance and the leasing office to ask whether someone had accessed my apartment. I was assured that no one had entered. As a woman living alone, that response was deeply alarming and resulted in an entire night spent fearful and unable to sleep because I genuinely believed someone may have entered my home.
The following morning, I woke up to a partial power outage caused by what appears to be an electrical issue. Sophia in the leasing office was very kind and responsive regarding that situation, which I greatly appreciated. However, when I called again seeking clarification about the unexplained entry into my apartment, I was abruptly interrupted and informed from the other leasing agent that it had been pest control all along.
The issue was not that pest control entered — I completely understand scheduled services happen in apartment communities. The issue was the lack of communication and the fact that I was initially told no one had entered my apartment at all. A simple clarification from the beginning could have prevented an entire night of fear and distress.
At this point, what has disappointed me most is not the maintenance itself, but the feeling that I have somehow become viewed as a nuisance for reporting legitimate concerns in a unit that clearly required extensive work from the beginning. I have made every effort to remain gracious, understanding, and respectful throughout this process, which is why feeling dismissed today with NO apology during a genuine safety concern was particularly disheartening.
As a local who has moved all throughout Howard County over the last 10 years, I want to help future residents find a good place to live. Overall, this is a visually nice property with some staff members who clearly do care. However, I would strongly encourage prospective residents to do an extremely thorough walkthrough before moving in and ensure all appliances, electrical systems, and maintenance concerns are fully addressed beforehand. My experience suggests that not every unit is truly move-in ready upon occupancy, and proactive inspection could save future residents significant stress.

I’ve been actively touring communities all month. I happened to drive past this community on Saturday and decided to stop in for a tour. I was promptly let in by the leasing agent, Sophia, and advised her of the space I was interested in.
Instead of a guided tour, she went to hand me keys, pointed in a direction, and began giving very vague instructions for a self-guided tour. As someone who has absolutely never been to this property before, this was extremely uncomfortable I would have NEVER found that unit alone.
Once I expressed I was no longer interested if the tour was self-guided, she advised she would drive over with me. Let me just say, I truly would not have located the unit without her.
When we arrived, Sophia stated she would stand outside of the unit while I toured alone for “her safety,” referencing Maryland law. I have toured several communities this month and this is the first time a leasing agent stood in the doorway speaking to me while I explored the apartment. It felt awkward, unwelcoming and unprofessional.
Additionally, there were several packages sitting on top of the mailboxes outside, which raised immediate security concerns.
From the website versus reality two totally different experiences. Unfortunately, this interaction completely turned me off from the property.
