I have been living here for more than two years since the very beginning of this apartment. I like it because it is very close to the University of Maryland and the metro. However, the recent management team change caused so many chaos and inconvenience. Since the management transition, communication has been extremely poor. I was not added to the apartment’s mass email distribution list. I also did not receive the link or instructions to register for the new resident portal and had to discover these issues myself. What makes this particularly frustrating is that residents should not have to repeatedly chase management just to receive basic information about their own apartment and lease. We have already renewed our lease, yet the renewed lease document was also missing from the new system, creating even more unnecessary confusion. Management transitions can be difficult, but maintaining accurate resident records, providing portal access, and making sure residents receive official communications are basic responsibilities. So far, my experience with the new management has been disorganized and frustrating.

My experience with the leasing staff at ArtWorth was extremely disappointing. From the very beginning, the conversation seemed overly focused on how much I make. I clearly confirmed that I meet the required income criteria, yet I was asked again with a stinky look on her face as though I had not already answered the question. The tone came across as judgmental and condescending rather than professional and welcoming. I understand that income verification is a normal part of the leasing process, but there is a respectful way to handle those conversations with prospective residents especially because I was with my son and discussing my income around him was unnecessary. I walked out mid conversation as I was interrupted by another staff mid conversation. First impressions matter, and unfortunately, the interaction with the leasing staff was enough to make me reconsider whether ArtWorth is somewhere I would want to live. If this is how prospective residents are treated without privacy and respect before they even become residents, I have serious concerns about what the experience would be like afterward. Management should seriously evaluate the professionalism and customer service of the leasing team.

My experience here has been horrible for the past 2 years I've lived here. Management threatened their tenants for months and took away our amenities, in-unit wifi, garage or street parking access, and more for being late on rent - which is clearly ILLEGAL and I have 2 kids under the age of 5. I have also had my $200+ package stolen and still have yet to hear from them regarding this matter. They have also made threats to evict us and they have also entered our unit without notice. Ironically, they recently sold the company to another management group so this is no longer owned by GreyStar. Everything has been so chaotic here. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND avoiding this apartment complex. This experience has been traumatic to say the least.

I’ve lived at Atworth for 2 years now and it has only gone downhill since I moved in. To start, something is always broken whether it’s the parking garage gate or the elevators. Secondly, they started to only allow residents to pick up packages during designated hours which is extremely inconvenient. I can never get my package when I need it due to my work hours so I can typically only pick up during the weekends which is crazy, I want my package when it arrives and would like to pick it up at MY earliest convenience! They also implemented a new system for visitors parking which visitors have to pay for nightly, and there is only a small strip of visitors parking for our very large building. And last but certainly not least, the communication sucks. They switched over to new management and did not let anyone know. The online portal is down so residents cannot even pay rent or make maintenance requests. They did not even tell us that they were changing management! Other issues are on the behalf of residents such as kids always running around, very noisy upstairs neighbors, trash thrown any and everywhere and foul smells in the hallway. However I will not hold that against Atworth. Overall, I give 2 stars because the actual units are very nice and I love the convenience of the metro. However all of these other issues let me know I have overstayed my welcome and I am excited to move elsewhere.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but after three months of dealing with the same unresolved issue, I feel it’s important to share my experience. From the very beginning, the move-in process was disorganized. I moved in over a holiday weekend and was never informed that the leasing office would be closed. Instead, I was assisted by a temporary employee who was unable to answer many questions or provide the support I needed. Three months later, my move-in deposit and May rent payment still have not been properly processed, despite me having already paid. My resident account continues to show inaccurate balances and late fees that should not be there. It’s incredibly stressful to log into your account and constantly see charges that don’t reflect reality, especially when you’ve fulfilled your obligations as a resident. The lack of communication has been one of the most frustrating parts of this experience. Getting updates is nearly impossible. Calls go unanswered, promised callbacks don’t happen, and I often have to reach out repeatedly just to receive little or no information. No one seems to know what’s going on or who is responsible for resolving the issue. To make matters worse, every time I finally begin working with a manager, that person is suddenly no longer with the property, forcing me to start over with someone new. There has been no continuity, no accountability, and no sense of urgency in resolving a problem that should have been addressed months ago. Living somewhere should bring peace of mind, not constant anxiety over whether your account is accurate or whether an unresolved administrative error will negatively affect you. After three months, my issue is still unresolved, and I am deeply disappointed by the lack of organization, communication, and customer service. I sincerely hope new management takes steps to improve their internal processes so future residents don’t have to experience the same level of frustration and stress.
