  Since I have moved into the Highlands West it has been a wonderful experience. Everyone from the concierge desk to the housekeepers have gone above and beyond kind and caring. It’s been amazing and I fully recommend thjs as your home!’ One thing that you could evaluate a better way is to treat the orchids in the main lobby. I understand the table being moved aside to accommodate the rug but the beautiful not to mention expensive orchids are dying and it dosent make the beautiful main lobby feel elevated Maybe move the orchids to the tables but dying orchids are not very elegant. And maybe just remove the large black round table .

  I want to share my experience with Nathan Spencer, General Manager of The Highlands of Chevy Chase. Over the past several years, I have had repeated interactions with Mr. Spencer, and unfortunately, I have found his communication and professionalism to be extremely disappointing. What concerns me most is his condescending manner. His words may appear polite on the surface, but the tone often comes across as dismissive, patronizing, and as though he is speaking down to you. Communication should not be this difficult. Emails can go unanswered for an extended period, and when a response is finally received, it often feels more dismissive than helpful. There is a significant difference between being professional and simply sounding polite while making someone feel disregarded. I have reached the point where I would prefer to have no interaction with him whatsoever. I don't say that lightly. No one should have to feel uncomfortable, belittled, or talked down to when attempting to communicate with someone in a management position. I debated whether to post this review because I generally do not like leaving negative feedback. However, I believe people should know what they may encounter when dealing with management at The Highlands of Chevy Chase. Professionalism is not just about how someone speaks; it is about how they treat people, how they respond to concerns, and whether they communicate with basic courtesy and respect. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that there is greater accountability for how people are treated. Everyone deserves to be spoken to professionally and with respect.

  Wonderful living experience with a fantastic community. The entire concierge team is helpful and attentive, but there are few people I’ve met on this earth more caring and personable than Felix. He is a perfect representative of this building and I think nearly every resident would agree. The maintenance team works fast and does a great job, and the overall building is well maintained. Glad to have moved here.

  From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was greeted by an absolute ray of sunshine at the front desk named Felix! He was incredibly welcoming, friendly, helpful, and genuinely kind. Felix went above and beyond in a way that I honestly haven’t experienced with front desk staff at other apartment communities I’ve visited. You can tell when someone is simply doing their job versus when someone genuinely cares about the people walking through the door, and Felix definitely falls into the latter. After my awesome tour with Alecia, I walked over to Whole Foods to grab a few things and think about whether I wanted to apply. One of the things I really loved was being able to literally walk out of the building and have so much right there around me. Once I decided I wanted to apply, I walked back over to The Highlands and saw Felix again. By this point, it was only minutes before the end of his shift, but you never would have known it from the way he treated me. He didn’t rush me or make me feel like I was keeping him from leaving. Instead, he took the time to walk me through the two apartment options I was considering, answered my questions, and helped me think through my decision. Something else that really stood out to me was watching residents come and go while I was there. So many of them seemed to know and genuinely appreciate Felix, and there was such a warm familiarity between the staff and residents. That says a LOT about a community. Overall, The Highlands made a great first impression. The community was clean and friendly, and the location is VERY walkable, which is a huge plus for me. Between my tour with Alecia, my experience with Felix, the residents I encountered, and the surrounding neighborhood, I felt comfortable enough to go from “let me think about it” to actually submitting an application. Felix, thank you for being such a bright spot in this experience and for making what can sometimes be a stressful decision feel a whole lot easier. The Highlands is fortunate to have you!
