    Very disappointing experience, especially for a brand-new building. Some of the issues I experienced: • On move-in day, a pipe burst on my floor, triggering the fire alarm. As a result, the elevator was out of service for a month during peak move-in season, making moving extremely difficult. Residents only received a small compensation ($500 reduction in rent) despite the major inconvenience. • Maintenance is very slow and often closes requests as “fixed” when the issues are still unresolved. • Management is unprofessional, unresponsive, and not cooperative. Responses are often delayed, and concerns are not taken seriously. • I reported a persistent foul smell coming from my bathroom every time I used the shower. Although maintenance initially acknowledged the issue and indicated they would return with additional staff to investigate further, no follow-up ever occurred. The issue was ignored for over a month and remained unresolved until I moved out. • When I requested a rent concession due to the unresolved issue and the prolonged lack of action, management dismissed my concerns. The property manager claimed there was no issue without even inspecting the unit and threatened to withhold my security deposit "and escalate the situation" if I did not pay the full rent on time. Communication throughout the process was slow (literally took 3 weeks to discuss the rent reduction because he was not responding and I had to follow up in person manu times) unprofessional, and uncooperative. Overall, for a new building, there are far too many appliances problems and the management experience has been very frustrating.

    I signed the lease to 605 shortly after the building was issued a certificate of occupancy in June 2025. I was one of the first residents to move in. It was pristine and quiet, like any new buildings. It had growing pains that were promptly addressed by a fledgling and courteous maintenance crew. As occupancy reaches capacity, I often see maintenance staff working hard to maintain public areas. They vacuum and mop continually to keep the lobby and elevator fresh and clean. I appreciate their behind-the-scene efforts to make the building attractive. Property Management is responsive and communicates when necessary. Furthermore the building is safe and secure. There are many desirable factors that make 605 a great place to live, the primary being location. It is nestled among culture and conveniences that make it a highly desirable hub. Its proximity to both subway and buses make traveling to the Square, Boston, and its outlying suburbs easy. The free shuttle to and from Alewife during high-traffic hours is a bonus. A regular train fare will get you to the Logan Airport terminals. Logan Express is accessible in downtown Boston for $3 round trip. Parking is not an issue as Cambridge offers resident parking permits for $25 annually, and free for senior citizens. Alewife garage rates are $9 a day for weekday parking and $3 a day for Saturday and Sunday. The building's location across Fresh Pond is another major consideration. There is no shortage of open spaces for outdoor recreation. How many cities can boast of a main library plus 6 satellite branches, 3 bookstores and a poetry shop (!) within one kilometer of each other. Where does one go to sail the fickle basin breeze but the Charles. Hospitals and health care facilities are easily accessible within 1/2 hour, Mount Auburn Hospital being the closest. Neighboring Belmont beckons if one needs a break in the quiet side. One is hard pressed to find a fraction of the amenities elsewhere. I count myself fortunate to have found 605 a year ago. That has made all the difference.
