  I debated on posting this review but after nearly 2 years with uncorrected issues, I wanted to share my experience with others. I purchased my new double wide home off the lot in 2020 after losing my prior mobile home to Hurricane Laura. My sales person Mrs. Gwena was wonderful. However, due to the home just arriving on the lot, it was all “boarded” up from transport and we were unable to actually tour any of the area except the living area and the kitchen. The rest of the home had to be viewed through a window which was fine because I was assured any problematic areas would be corrected. Most of these issues were corrected. However, nearly 2 years later I STILL DO NOT HAVE a properly functioning master shower and the carpets in each of my bedrooms have what feel like knots under the carpet. The service people that were sent out by the manufacturer were HORRIBLE. One had to be banned from my home due to the way I was treated in my own home. I was informed that I was not the only person who had this issue with this particular service person. The second one from the manufacturer kept saying I could fix this but I’m not because it’s not on my work order and I won’t get paid for it if I fix it. Seriously??? The only properly corrected issues were performed by the service staff from Clayton Homes. Now, I have emails that address the remaining issues that remain unanswered. They manufacturer tried to say I was not answering calls, but they had an incorrect phone number for me. How can someone answer a phone call they never received? Also when the service people came out to “fix” an issue, they created more problems that were considered “not covered” or “we no longer have that part available” and wanted to substitute with something that was not as “nice” as what was originally in the home. These issues may not actually be a problem that Clayton Homes can correct, but if you are going to do business with a manufacturer you need to be sure they follow through on what they are supposed to do. My home is a Southern Energy home. I would not recommend them to anyone. If you purchase from Clayton Homes, avoid this manufacturer at all costs! It’s sad to know that I am going to have to pay out of pocket to have problems corrected that should have been taken care of from day one by the service dept of the manufacturing company.
