Truly not even worth one star. I’ve had the absolute worst experience with Aspen Pines, and I don’t wish it upon anyone. Stay far away!
I moved to the area from out of state (8 hours away) and when I got here, the apartment I was supposed to move into was disgusting and far from move-in ready (clumps of hair in the bath tub, appliances looked like they had never been cleaned, and my washer and dryer wasn’t in the unit whatsoever). The complex tried to give me a 2nd unit, but it also wasn’t clean. I had to drive another 2 hours to a family member’s home to stay, because they don’t work on weekends and told me there was nothing else they could do until Monday. The only thing they would do for me was give me an $100 gift card for “the inconvenience” which they didn’t even have on-hand. I tried texting the property manager, and she refused to text me back to keep me updated on what was going on.
Fast forward to Monday, I had to drive 2 hours for my first day of a new job. But I was able to move-in - there still isn’t a washer or dryer, there’s a stained counter top and I had to scrub the bathtub myself. I received the $100 gift card, and it turned out there was only $2.33 left on the card when I got it and the property manager told me it’s not her problem.
I’m supposed to get new appliances and I highly doubt that will ever happen. Save yourself the trouble, please!
I would not recommend living here. 1 star is even pushing it. The management is by far the worst part of this apartment complex. We spent 12 months calling and reporting our neighbor’s dog because it barked nonstop day and night. Despite countless complaints, nothing was ever done. The situation became so bad that the police even got involved, and management still failed to resolve the issue.
When we moved out, we left the apartment spotless. We thoroughly cleaned everything, there was absolutely no damage, and we took great care of the unit during our lease. Yet we received only $20 back from our security deposit. The deposit return papers told us we were charged for one of the broken stove tops that was like that upon move in. We put a request in for it and they never came to fix it so we left it as we had 3 others. We were also charged for “no general clean”. We have pictures and proof of that apartment being left spotless, no belongings, food or trash was left behind. We figured this was going to be the outcome given how many frustrated calls and complaints we made about the poor management and lack of efforts for resolution with the issues we had with our neighbors dog. Completely unprofessional. It often felt like no one wanted to deal with residents’ concerns, and getting a response or any meaningful action required constant follow up.
Overall, this was a very frustrating experience from start to finish. If you’re looking for a place with responsive management, reliable maintenance, and fair treatment, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
Lived here for over two years. Experience was generally okay. My ice maker didn’t work the entire duration of my stay because the maintenance guy claimed it wasn’t broken (the “ice full” lever would get stuck and needed to be replaced, which I explained. The maintenance guy would manually move the lever, it would make one batch of ice, and then he’d claim it wasn’t broken, but he failed to recognize that it would get stuck in that position and not make anymore ice after that. Oh well). Also, the landlord special carpet they used made the apartment noxious and nauseating for the first few months I lived there; the chemical odor was so horrible, they tried to use an ozone machine to make the apartment smell better, which didn’t really work.
During inspections (this place does routine inspections, btw), my apartment was always clean and tidy. Alane even commented “this is the nicest smelling apartment we’ve been in!”
When I moved out, they charged me $40 to replace the stovetop drip pans. Are you kidding me? Wasn’t worth going to small claims over, and that’s what they’re banking on. Be prepared to fight petty charges if you want your full deposit back.
Also, I had my own brand new dryer professionally installed in my unit, and it took forever to dry simply because Aspen Pines does not clean the building’s dryer ducts, which were full of lint and are a fire hazard.
My apartment also had tacky peel-and-stick lettering on some of the walls (certainly from a previous tenant) that they had just painted over instead of removing, so you could still see the tacky quote underneath the paint.
Also, what’s with the bathroom faucets? They’re so inappropriately small and ill-proportioned that it’s impossible to wash your hands without your hands being pressed into the bowl of the sink. I had to buy faucet adapters to be able to move the stream of water into a more appropriate position (IYKYK).
The pool and pool area is very nice, however.

I’m planning on moving here next summer! My sister lives here and her apartment is so nice.
