Do not ever sign a lease here! Constant issues!!!!! There was a new problem every single week in this "luxury" complex. We had 2 floods, an electrical fire, mold infestation, broken windows, cockroaches, broken dryer, HVAC was out for a month and more! The worst is when we had multiple fire alarms go off in the early morning (1 or 2 am) and went on for hours since the fire dept. couldn't turn them off for whatever reason. Everything was permanently dirty... multiple times trash was not picked up over night (that we pay a fee for !!) and it is ridiculous that there is no way to throw away trash other than using the valet service. They also did not open the pool until there was 1 (ONE) week left in the lease. The people the worked the front desk were always so kind, so this is to no fault of their own... horrible management is to blame.
Please read before leasing!!
I lived at the Lex for 3 years while I went to college, so I feel as if I have a lot of knowledge to write an honest review.
To start, I’m very very lucky that the 2 apartments I’ve lived in during my time there had very minimal maintenance issues. That is something that is unheard of here. I had friends that lived here and their apartment flooded, had mold, AC issues, appliance issues, etc. But I’m only going to speak on my experience.
These apartments are very cheaply made and not up kept at all for the price. Elevators constantly being broken down, leaks in the hallways, doors would not lock so they would just be wide open all the time for the homeless, you could hear everything from outside so when there was traffic or a Friday/Saturday night when it’s busy downtown you couldn’t sleep, etc. With these issues, nothing was fixed. My last year living here there was a leak in the hallway ceiling that would flood the area every time it rained. I think I reported it several times and they never fixed it. The doors would never lock securely in my building so anyone could walk in at any time. And no one did anything about it. There was one time a group of kids got into the building cause the doors never locked and they broke into the fire extinguisher box and sprayed that stuff all over the hallway! I think the one thing that upset me the most was one weekend I was out of town and I come back to the elevator being broken, I speak to maintenance about it and they tell me there was an electrical fire in my building over the weekend. I was never informed of this at all! The communication was bare to none on any emergencies. WiFi was a joke. Went MONTHS with terrible wifi. Half the time it would be out for 24 hours plus. The Lex never did anything to say sorry to their residents.
The amenities are horrible. The gym is extremely outdated and half the machines are broke. The pool is never open when they claim it’s going to be but they are quick to close it down.
Guest parking is a joke. There is about 10 spots for the entire complex and if you don’t park in those spots you are at risk for being towed. The office used to offer me guest parking passes for the weekends and then all of a sudden they stopped and couldn’t tell me why which was very unprofessional how they went about it.
Maintenance does not do a good job. They either come right away or you’re waiting 3 weeks. And half the time they don’t do their job correct. And they would constantly leave messes in the apartment. I would come back to my stuff moved all over the place and dirt all over the ground every time they left. One of them also smoked heavily so if he was in your unit it smelled like cigarettes for awhile.
The management here is so unprofessional. No one is trained correctly and can give you an accurate answer. The ONLY person that deserves a 5 star rating is Lexi. She was the most helpful person in that office and I only trusted her when it came to important questions. I’m not sure if she works there anymore but if you are stuck in a lease there, she’s your person to get things done for you!
Overall for the price increase that they have done over the years and the management getting worse and worse every year, it is not worth your time and money to live here. I feel that they do not uphold a good standard to apartment living for students.
Also! Do not trust any of the 5 star reviews. They do giveaways all the time for residents or tours they give so they are never true 5 star reviews!
Please read!(The good reviews are coming from the apartment, they offer prizes for residents who leave a good review…do not trust them)
I lived here for several years. It is a good location for students to walk to campus and the maintenance team is wonderful and kind.
That is the only good thing I can say about this place. It flooded multiple times, there was mold in the bedrooms and hallways. People will leave their trash thrown across the hallway. The elevator stopped working and they didn’t fix it for 5 months.
There was a major leak in the downstairs entrance and they did not fix it. So, when winter came, it froze over and became dangerous. It was nearly impossible to exit the building.
WIFI: If you plan to do homework at the apartment good luck. It goes out weekly and this is not an exaggeration. I frequently had to walk to campus to complete assignments I should have been able to do at home.
The fire alarms often go off and sometimes will not stop for hours. It recently went off at 4am and the sounds and flashing did not stop until 10am.
There is constant leaking and our ceilings were covered in water damage.
HIDDEN FEES!!! Fees such as trash, parking, communication etc were raised each year btw.
Parking: Almost no guest spots. Don’t plan on having friends over. They’ll have to go elsewhere or risk being towed.
Quarterly inspections: we were supposed to have inspections 4 times a year to change air filters etc. They came one time.
If you move here you will have roaches as well so plan to have a treatment or prevention ready.
I wish I could say something nice about this place. I lived here for all of college, and it started off wonderfully. They were very helpful and active but they switch managers yearly and have stopped caring. As the years passed, it has continued to go downhill. I cannot believe that people still live here.
Also, they have a pool but don’t plan on using it. They’ll never open it! Sits unused all summer every year. It must be decorative.
To summarize: Do not live here. It isn’t worth the location.

First picture is a bunch of homeless people digging through a garbage pile that’s been sitting there for weeks. Second pic is the door I have to use to get in and out of my apartment. Disgusting and trashy, elevators covered in notes like “move out” “run” and “leave” . Horrible management . Run as fast as you can unless you want mold poisoning.

I do not recommend. It’s a mess. The security door doesn’t work and hasn’t for at least 6 months. They’ll raise the rent halfway through the year. And they don’t respond to maintenance requests. It got 2 stars only because it provided a roof over my daughter’s head and good proximity. Find somewhere else.
