The manager, Paige, went out of her way to be unnecessarily kind and helpful to us during a move out and difficult cross country transition. 10/10 Paige 🥳. Thank you!

I came by for a tour on 4/4 and the young lady that was there was not helpful at all. I started by going to the sister property across the lot and received great service from Jocelyn who suggested I check out Water Crest. When I walked in the young lady didn’t introduce herself so I didn’t get a name. It was like pulling teeth trying to talk to her. She didn’t really ask any questions of what I was looking for so I started by telling her how many rooms and that I would like a tour. From there she gave me paperwork, but failed to explain or go over any information about costs or anything. She was just looking by at me crazy like a deer in headlights. When we finished with the tour I felt rushed as she stayed standing when we got back handed me my ID and said to just check the website for availability. She didn’t bother asking if I had more questions or see if I wanted a quote. Linked In premium has some great training videos on customer service. She may want to look into that.

Apartment 4/5. Complex 2/5 keeps getting lower. Maintenance staff 4.5/5. Management 2/5. Loud noises from upstairs like they have horses running around the apartment. Trash service is very unreliable we have taken our own out for the past 8 months. New PetScreening pet profiles are terrible caused nothing but issues. Pool closes a lot. Funky smells in elevators and hallways quite frequently. Since our time here we have had a few issues with the automatic garage door opening possibly after closing it and leaving and stayed open until hours later when we noticed it was open had to have that system reset a few times but pretty sure that has caused items going missing from our garage it’s been a while since that last happened though. Rent goes up a lot come time to renew. Lots of silver fish. 2 at most 3 packages stolen that I can recall in just over a year. We have been here over a year it has its good and has its bad points. Cost of rent is just unjustified for what it is in my opinion. Addition. You heard three things out of a much broader complaint. Ok. Addition. The office installed a new system which is terrible we have chatgtp/Ai generated emails and responses you thought it was fun trying talking to the human management wait until you get the Ai which has no clue what your on about how to fix the issue or anything and just cause another inconvenience to residents already received daily spam from their new system on matters already spoken to with office staff still getting the spam though seriously not good and it’s not going to help the staffing issues which plague this complex. They also keep selling people’s information their own residents. Just battled with pet screening to stop selling my information due to the management forcing pet profiles on residents even without pets took me a month to get rid of all the spam. The new AI system handled by a third party kicked in again sold my information because of this place I had had at least another 35 different companies spamming me daily because of this. Know what you are signing up for with this apartment complex. One last story to share about our experience here. A couple of months ago I woke up early hours of the morning and went to go get a glass of water I turned on the kitchen light and saw a cockroach run across the kitchen counter and disappear in a gap on our kitchen faucet so instantly I put in a pest control request with the office. My request was denied as I was told “it’s a specialist treatment that we don’t cover” but they could arrange it for me with pest control for it was between $75-$100 per visit that we would have to pay for and I was like hang on a minute it’s in both our interests to sort this and I had said it’s more yours then mine as we can just move and the issue won’t be ours but it still will be yours so that was fun and games I left it at I will think about it because I don’t have that money to do it eventually they did pay for it but it was such an ordeal. Luckily it just seemed to be one roach no other activity. They do have a silver fish problem here though. It’s such an ordeal to get them to pay for things. When we first moved in the previous resident had cut all the connections to the Ethernet ports that are in this small electrical cupboard so none of the Ethernet ports in any of the rooms worked and that was the same thing google fibre wouldn’t fix it because it was damage to their stuff and they said the apartment complex was liable, the apartment complex said it’s googles equipment and google were responsible and this went on for a couple of months before the apartment complex finally fixed it. This is this place in a nutshell they don’t hear the issues and fight against hoping you will just give up.

I moved into WaterCrest after much apartment searching with my young daughter. I was looking for a secured and safe environment as a newly, single-dad. The complex offered the best floor plans and amenities in the Lenexa/Overland Park area. Karlie was instrumental in my daughter and I making our decision to live here. She was very sensitive and caring with my daughter and really helped put her at ease with the idea of moving to a new place. Her patience and inclusion of my daughter as she explained the benefits of living here influenced our decision to make the move here. The staff is attentive, and while there have been small maintenance needs, the staff is very quick to schedule. The amenities are appropriate for the price and competitive for the surrounding City Center area. These include an indoor mail room, movie room, full kitchen, dining and clubroom for public and private use at no additional cost, pool table and shuffle board. There is even a complimentary coffee and latte drink machine during business hours. Additionally, Watercrest has the BEST pool and pool amenities including flat screen TVs, grills, outdoor fireplace, and plenty of cabanas, and pool chairs. There is even an adjacent kitchen with fridge and ice makers to provide ice and hold food and beverages during pool use. Round that out with a decent gym offering cardio equipment as well as free weight and circuit machines, towel service, on-site massage, sun tanning, yoga and fitness coaching no other surrounding complex can compete. Security and access is also great, with key fobs instead of keys that can be deactivated if lost. Access to 435 at 87th street provides convenience to anywhere in the metro area. I especially enjoy the nearby trails and close proximity to Shawnee Mission Park. I'm leaving out so many other benefits, but you really must see for yourself. I highly recommend WaterCrest Apartments.
