I’ve had such a great experience living at Verve! The building is beautiful, the amenities are amazing, and the location is so convenient. A huge shoutout to the entire Verve team, they are always friendly, helpful, and quick to address any questions or concerns. You can tell they genuinely care about the residents and work hard to make Verve feel like home. I would definitely recommend living here!

It was amazing! The girl who gave us a tour made sure to tell us every little detail. And tell us the answer to any question we had! The apartment itself was so clean and smelled amazing

Definitely a little pricy, but I really enjoyed my time living at VERVE. Maintenance was handled in a timely matter and the leasing team was very helpful and friendly. The facilities and amenities were clean, and the Chauncey area is a great place to live.

I would give 3.5 stars, to be more accurate. I've lived at Verve for the past two years on the 6th floor, and this will be the start of my third year living here before I graduate. I'm going to detail some of the issues of my experience, and hopefully it will be helpful for prospective tenants. ISSUES: Like others have mentioned in their reviews, the biggest issue with Verve is: Poor noise insulation. For a newly constructed building on a college campus, you would think that the builders would've had the foresight to create better soundproofing. I am someone who struggles with misophonia and am a light sleeper, and the constant noise bleed from various sources has been a nightmare for me. For one, you can hear every step your upstairs neighbors make, so you better hope that they are on your sleep schedule. Honestly looking back, I should've paid the extra to live on the top floor. For another, the construction noise has also been a big nuisance. I understand this is not really Verve's fault, but for there to be three straight years of construction outside my window, it would've been nice to have been foreworned so that I could've picked a unit on the other side of the building. If your next door neighbor throws a party, expect to hear it on the other side of the wall. I know that no apartment can be 100% noise proof, but for a new development these walls and ceilings really seem pathetically thin. There are also these air vents on the outside of the building that flap around when it gets windy and can make really loud banging sounds, especially on winter nights. I sleep with earplugs + white noise machine every night, and it does not drown out the neighbor's footsteps or most of the other noise. Fire alarms. This one is more on the tenants, I guess, but my god does the fire alarm get tripped all the time, sometimes late at night. The main issue is that it takes the fire department so long to arrive, sometimes upwards of a half an hour. I don't know where the breakdown in communication is, whether it's Verve's fault or the fire departments, but if there's a real emergency we might be cooked. Reception. They need to be more assertive. Don't expect them to do anything about noise complaints or other complaints. Also, my roommate tried to call the office over the summer and was put on the phone with an AI "agent". She had to ask four times to talk to a real human. I've had generally good experiences with the workers here, and they are nice, but it seems like they don't do much about complaints, and I've heard a lot of negative things from other residents about their lack of enforcement on issues. There's also been a lot of issues with the package room, such as the system being broken or I don't receive notifications that a delivery was made. Ladybugs?? Every spring, ladybugs (or asian beetles) come in from some hole we can't find in our living room window. It's only ever these ladybugs, never any other kind of bug, and it's only in the spring. Called maintenance about it, said they couldn't find the hole. We keep them away with essential oils. Not a huge problem, but kinda weird. Pricing. Not much else to say. I knew when I signed the lease it would be expensive, but for the price we pay I would expect the above issues to be addressed more seriously. SUMMARY: I know I've been harsh, but Verve is otherwise a really nice place to live. Good amenities, good temperature control, nice people, and fun events. All the good stuff you see on the website and instagram. Great location. Verve is worth the price if you are someone who is not bothered by noise. If you are, try to get a room that is on the top floor, and on the other side of the building from the Chauncey construction. Even with my noise struggles, I've found ways to cope (noise cancelling headphones), and I've chosen to live here for three years. I can't speak to the other residential buildings in the area, but if I had to keep living in West Lafayette, I would continue with Verve. I can only hope that some of these issues can be better addressed in the future.
