  I was very excited to move here because the property looked beautiful when I toured in September 2025. The grounds were well maintained and everything seemed clean and organized. Unfortunately, that standard has not been kept. The lawn is often overgrown with no consistent mowing schedule, and areas that need trimming are ignored until they’re out of control. We were told carpets in halls and stairwells would be cleaned, but as of June 2026, that has not happened and they continue to get worse. Trash is another issue—large items are left around dumpsters for weeks with no action taken, despite management saying cameras would be installed. Pet rules are not enforced either, with dogs off leash and waste left around the property. Management frequently sends notices about rules for patios and hallways, but enforcement is inconsistent. Some residents have excessive items outside, while others are restricted, which feels unfair. Winter maintenance is also lacking—parking lots aren’t cleared until after snow stops, making it difficult to leave, while the office area is always cleared right away. Lastly, this is advertised as a smoke-free community, but smoking is allowed on patios, which often fills nearby apartments and hallways with smoke. Complaints about this are not addressed. Overall, it has potential, but poor maintenance and lack of follow-through make it hard to recommend.

  we have lived at shaker square for over 3 years now, and truly have no complaints about anything! our experience has been very easy-going and comfortable, and we want to give a special thanks to the maintenance man. he is so awesome and timely, very efficient and always makes sure the problem is resolved. we just wanted to give him the recognition he deserves, and his hard work does not go unnoticed! we are very happy living in this community.

  We lived here two years, had multiple DV incidents next door, bugs, mold, the maintenance didn’t replace the air filter and just walks in whenever they want. Also manager trauma dumping about her daughter and granddaughter as we are signing the lease. Overall super unprofessional place, super rude customer service, very glad to be moving on to the next chapter.
