Mike's Monologue

We moved in to The Pearl a few months ago, and we're loving it here. All of the residents are very nice and friendly. There seems to be a good mix of age groups living here which is awesome!
The concierges are always organizing events, and there's multiple events a month for residents to enjoy. Some events have invaluable prizes as well, like free parking for a month inside the climate controlled garage. Nearly every event also has food and drinks as well, so even if the event isn't a big turnaround; the food and drinks still make it worth it.
One thing I SERIOUSLY love his how secure this building actually is. It's not at all possible to get to any of the residence floors without a key fob. Likewise, outside of concierge hours, it's also not at all possible to even get into The Pearl. To add even more to that, it's not at all possible to get into the parking garage either. I've never felt more secure in my life, and being in Fort Wayne, that is an unbeatable (and necessary) perk to living here.
There are two outdoor terraces. The 4th floor and the 7th floor. Here's where my honesty gets less fun. I do have a service dog, which is documented in my lease, and I was told maybe a week or two after move in that he is not allowed on the 4th floor terrace. I'm unsure if the person who told me that was aware that my dog is a service dog or not, but nonetheless, we had just moved in, so I didn't want to start turmoil so soon, especially because they were polite about it.
Another thing that isn't necessarily a deal breaker, but is nice to know for future tenants is that outside on your balcony, customization is severely limited to keep the aesthetic of The Pearl looking modern and sleek. You can still have outdoor furniture of any color, but even neutral mesh to cover your balcony rails isn't allowed. For the majority of people, this probably isn't an issue.
Another thing I really like is how clean The Pearl is. It's literally the cleanest apartment building I've ever seen, and there's no doubt in my mind that it'll ever change. An added bonus to that is that the sanitary personnel are all super nice as well, and very easy to talk to.
With all apartments come the question of maintenance, and Chuck is the maintenance man here at The Pearl. He's extremely friendly, but he's also very much on top of things, and I have yet to have any issues that weren't taken care of quickly. It's worth noting that you can submit maintenance requests through the resident app as well, but if the requests are confusing to you, you can absolutely call the concierges or stop at the front desk and have them put in a work order for you.
Speaking of concierges, they're all amazing, and they're here long hours Monday-Friday, and they're even here on Saturday for a shorter duration. They collect packages for you and put them in a numbered locker, and then they'll text you (if you want them to) to tell you what locker your package is in. This has been extremely convenient for me. At other apartment complexes, a lot of front desk staff are very shady. Thank God that is not the case here. Reagan, Rachel, Molly, and Rob are spectacular.
