I was initially very impressed with Jim. He created a strong sense of urgency around the apartment I was interested in, explaining that if I did not place a deposit immediately, the unit would likely be taken. Based on that information, I made every effort to complete the application, make a deposit and reserve the apartment as quickly as possible.
Unfortunately, the experience quickly became frustrating due to apparent system glitches and poor communication between Jim and the assistant, Avis. When I first encountered issues with the application process, they were responsive and seemed eager to help. However, as the day progressed and the problems continued, both became increasingly difficult to reach. My calls went unanswered, texts were not returned, and all I was trying to do was submit my deposit to reserve the apartment.
After approximately 2:30 PM, I received no communication whatsoever. Then, at around 6:00 PM—after the office had already closed—I received a text message stating that my calls had been going to spam. This explanation was confusing because I had already removed their number from my call filter and never received any additional calls. Furthermore, the tone of the text felt more like a scolding than an attempt to assist a prospective resident. I also spent $75 on an application and never received the results!
Jim also stated that he would be available after 11:00 AM on Monday, yet when I called and texted during that time frame, I received no response. It is now 1 hour before they close on Monday and I decided to call because I received no response from text or the voicemail I left 3 hours ago. The lack of follow-through and communication was extremely disappointing.
The application process is when a property management team should be making its best impression on future residents. Instead, I was left feeling ignored, frustrated, and as though my business was not valued. If this is the level of communication during the leasing process, it raises concerns about what residents might experience after moving in.

I lived at Sand Creek Woods from August 2010 to June 2016.
I look back on my time in the community, and could not have been happier with the decision to spend a large part of my life there. I lived in 4 different floor-plans during my time, and all were more than adequate and met with no problematic issues.
The staff is wonderful. They are always friendly, accommodating, and fun. They went out of their way to make you feel welcome and taken care of. They weren't just "the owners" or "the management", they were more like friends. Maintenance always had an obvious presence (tending to the pool, picking up debris around the community, etc), and were on-call with quick response/solution if you had a specific issue inside of your unit.
The property is well-maintained, properly lit, and features many helpful amenities (tennis court, optional carports/garages, pool, hot tub, workout center, indoor bball court, office/computer lounge). It was also an added bonus that every unit comes with a washer and dryer. On top of this, the community includes water/trash/sewage expense in your rent. Which only left me with an electric bill (Duke) and tv/internet bill (ATT). Convenient, stream-lined, and easy living.
The location is top-notch for the northside of Indianapolis. You are in the heart of Fishers, minutes away from the interstate, and close to many entertainment/landmarks (Hamilton Town Center, Klipsch Music Center, Geist Reservoir, soon to be Ikea and Top Flite Golf).
The rates that Sand Creek Woods offers are reasonable, and the best around. For the total package, you will not find anything else in the same ballpark. I gladly sacrificed over-priced heavy rent at other local apartment communities (1BR $1000/mo+); for the fairness, comfort, and flexibility at Sand Creek Woods.
During the end of my time in Sand Creek Woods, they were updating units around the community with new light fixtures, door knobs/handles, appliances, countertops, cabinets, etc. They certainly re-invest your rent into community maintenance and upgrades. If I ever face another rental need in the future, I would certainly return to the community no-questions-asked.
I have nothing but positive thoughts and memories about Sand Creek Woods. Everyone should certainly give them a call or a visit if you are in the rental market for the northside Indianapolis area. Andrea, Alaina, Craig, and Brady will be ready to assist and welcome you.
