Avoid The Dillon if you value basic competence from property management. My roommate and I were repeatedly overcharged in ways that went directly against the terms of our lease, and the second we started asking questions about it, management suddenly became impossible to reach.
At one point we were being charged $450 in utilities for a house that literally would not heat above 62 degrees in the winter. (Apparently heating was broken and we paid 220 each month for nothing, and didn't get a refund) We emailed multiple times asking for an explanation and a refund for the obvious overcharge, and management completely stopped replying. Apparently the strategy here is just to ignore tenants once the bills start getting questionable. Anyway, we asked maintenance to come in and they found a broken part that prevented the house form being heated up, and when we emailed, once again, we got ghosted.
Front desk is the same. The ceiling fans in several unused rooms were left running constantly, which obviously increases the electricity bill. I submitted five separate maintenance requests asking them to turn them off. After the fifth request, I received a message saying the issue had been fixed, except it clearly wasn’t, because the fans were still spinning and visible through the window. Requests seem to get marked “completed” whether anyone actually does anything or not.
Overall the management is slow, unresponsive, and completely careless when it comes to tenant concerns. If you like being overcharged, ignored, and dealing with problems yourself while still paying premium rent, then The Dillon might be perfect for you. Otherwise, I’d strongly recommend renting literally anywhere else. I literally feel like I have to keep running around the daycare trying to solve these issues.
If you already signed a lease here, please check if they are overcharging you against the terms of your lease, because that is what happened to me. I signed at one price, then got charged a different price. Management seems to think they can just toy around with unaware students, so please be very very careful. I came here as an international student all alone, and I feel very taken advantage of. This is no way to treat a tenant. I guess I should have listened to the warnings from other students before moving in, I really hope the Dillon understands how quickly word spreads on campus.
