In less than 30 minutes, the maintenance man was at my door to fix the problem. When I returned after work, my apartment was nice and cool. I slept through the night and that was a blessing. Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!

I originally wrote a review about three months after moving in, but it was removed. Now that we've moved out and experienced living elsewhere, I can confidently say our concerns weren't just "normal apartment living." This was my fiancé's and my first apartment, and for the price, we expected a luxury experience. Unfortunately, that's not what we got. The renovations felt mostly cosmetic, and the quality didn't match the rent. In fact, we now live in a true luxury apartment, pay less, and receive far better amenities and management. Our old unit at Renew is now listed for about $400 more per month than what we paid, which is hard to justify. Parking was one of the biggest issues. Finding a space after work was a daily struggle. The garage across the street is free overnight, but you have to move your car before 7 a.m. or pay for parking. We regularly saw vehicles being towed. Plumbing problems were common. There were frequent water shutoffs, and our apartment often smelled like sewage or smoke. Despite the no-smoking policy, we smelled marijuana almost every night, and complaints didn't seem to lead to any meaningful changes.
The HVAC system was another major frustration. During the spring-to-summer transition, residents had no control over air conditioning. Our apartment reached 84 degrees before the AC was finally turned on.
Some neighbors were wonderful, but others ignored community rules. One balcony below ours was consistently covered in dog waste, and nothing was done about it despite complaints. Emergency maintenance entered our apartment twice because of plumbing and leak issues. While they responded to emergencies, it felt like maintenance problems were constant. We received more emails about water shutoffs and maintenance than updates that actually improved the community. The current property manager seems better than the previous one, and I'll give credit where it's due. However, that wasn't enough to outweigh the overall experience. For the price Renew charges, I expected much better. After living there for a year, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a true luxury apartment experience.

New leasing company Redtail sent me this message today when I asked to have my bedroom carpets replaced after being at this complex for over 8 years
Per the leasing office:
"Good afternoon, Redtail does not replace the carpets, nor do they provide renewal carpet cleaning"
There are no incentives for renewing your lease. You'd think that they would wanna keep their current tenants happy. I mean its 2 rooms and it cost $100 to clean it even if changing the carpets is too much.
The maintenance staff is amazing. The new management sucks!!!
Waiting for the Fay to open so I can leave this dump.
This review is coming from someone who lived here for four years and never had any major issues. I know a lot of people only leave reviews if they have a particularly terrible time, so this is my attempt to give a more balanced perspective.
Pros: the location here is ideal, youre right by the downtown which means you can easily walk to get drinks or check out the cute shops downtown - plus youre as close to the train station as the train parking lot, which is great if you need to commute downtown. I lived on the 20th floor, so the view was also incredible. There are basically no other tall buildings in the area, so it is a truly unique kind of view that absolutely grabbed me the first time I saw it. I'd say anything above the 6th floor youll likely have uninterrupted views. The living room and bedroom are pretty large for an apartment and the balcony is a good size as well. Overall, we rarely had any issues with the unit itself.
Cons: I dont think I ever went 2 full months without some sort of utility getting shut down. Because these are stacked buildings, when something goes wrong it goes down for everyone. Usually its the water, electrical, and very often at least one elevator is broken. People do get stuck in them. The garage floods often as well, and after you have to pay so much money for it to begin with. The front entry looks great, but based on where parking exists you won't actually use that entrance, you'll be walking down the gross back hallway that also floods every time it rains. They redid this hallway a few years ago but it got bad within a month because of all the flooding. The trash compacter is also next to the hallway so it does smell pretty terrible on occasion. If you have a dog, prepare to take a journey just to get to a patch of grass for them to use, and look out for all the poop piles that people dont bother picking up. If you go out the back hallway watch out for broken glass from the dumpsters there. The biggest con for me is the binary heat/ac system. They'll brush over this in the tour, but the entire building switches from heat to ac together, and the laws around that keep the management stuck holding on to heat until mid-may or early June. That means that the early warm days of spring are an absolute nightmare of waking up hot and sticky. They advise you to open your windows to help, but little known fact about spring - its raining all the time so you'll have to keep it closed most of the time anyway. Do not underestimate this, if you are sensitive to heat or work from home this is going to be a problem every single year. The autumn transition is not so bad.
Overall, I would say everything within the unit is good and we had very few problems. Everything with the building is another story. and youll have to make the call yourself on whether that is worth it. Several of my neighbors have lived here for over 20 years, and I didn't really mind some of these things in the beginning so I do think you can get used to them. I just wish that someone had laid it out for me before I moved in.

Extremely frustrated with the HVAC situation. Temperatures have already crossed 80°F and management still hasn’t switched the building from heat to AC. Apartments are getting unbearably hot, especially during the afternoon and night. Residents are paying full rent and HVAC costs but aren’t receiving basic comfort. Every year this delay becomes an issue, and management continues to ignore resident concerns until conditions become unbearable. There needs to be better planning, communication, and consideration for the people living here. Turning on the AC this late is unacceptable. This rating is only based on HVAC system here.
